"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

Ur mistake wasnt even slightly bothersome! I am Glad that u pulled all my neighbors out :)

The pictures i was interested in were five and seven... Yall hafta excuse me i was a goth child and im still facinated by black animals

Both pics are the same Bird he is so cool and sweet has great temperment. He preferes to roost outside the coop. I'm trying to break him of that. He is a Lyonnaise I really like he look and his comb. Pam

I'm emotionally attached to some of my pullets that I need to thin again. They're all mixed, but they're just so pretty! I'm hoping they start laying super soon so that DH will be distracted by all the eggs again.

Sorry to hear that I'd be happy to sell you some of mine that are direct from GFF. They are a German Breed and they have the same temperment as the Biele's. Pam
I'm sure you would

and thank you for the offer. I'd like to get more but my plate is pretty full right now although I'm always interested in what yours look like and how they're coming along.

If I were to acquire more Bieles I'd prefer adult birds or I'd have to know exactly what stock they came from. Stock that I'd prefer to see in person and know the weights, form, feathering ect.
Or like you say direct from Green Fire Farms. But who knows if they are breeding to the German standard. I'm curious to know how the new stock you have from them will turn out.
I may be interested in some from you in the future. Just depends how they finish out.

Is anybody online? I've got an emergency. Something got a sussex pullet, and injured another. All of her tail feathers are ripped out and it looks like the beginnings of fly strike? She was swarmed by flies and has clumps of little things on her feathers. What's the best way to treat this quickly before it's a huge problem?

Update: only one of her legs is working. I tilted her upside down to check her bottom side for injuries and blood began dripping from her beak. Now she's gurgling pretty loudly. :(

Update 2: she stopped gurgling pretty quickly. I bathed her with dawn dishsoap and removed all the eggs; hoping that the dawn kills anything missed. Found a wound on her left side, same side with the non functioning leg. Not super deep and very little blood. I covered her wound and her naked tail in blue-kote, and now she's resting in the laundry room.

Wow, sorry to hear this! Hang in there and do what you can for her.

Awe! Poor thing! Ive read that fly strike can be so horrible :( i hope your not suffering that! Dont be too hard on yourself if she doesnt make it it sounds to me like she had been internally injured :'( my heart and prayers go out to you and your lil pullet

Update on Emily: she drank quite a bit and ate well, both by herself. She hasn't moved at all, and the wound still looks clean. I'm pretty sure I got all the fly eggs, but I know it only takes one. I'm not sure about her leg. She can push it out and pull it in, but her toes don't move. If I try to stand her up, she throws out her wing for balance. She also uses the wing to push and reposition herself.

She fell asleep eating. :)

Edit to add:
She's pretty alert and answers me when I talk to her.
