"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

Well, I just went out and found this. Not sure if it's a pullet egg or fairy egg. Guess I'll find out in a day or two!

Great news! My light Sussex and other larger breeds seem to take longer to lay. I had some new layers today as well. Pam

How are you liking the light sussex, Pam?

I'm thinking of getting stock from Walt's Ark. In addition to correct type and color, he also breeds for correct temperament and egg production. His speckled sussex are truly stunning. He breeds other colors, also.

Good to hear from you on here. I'm thinking my broody should be hatching eggs soon too. I'm going to hatch some Bresse and isbar chicks. I'll start tomorrow. I sure hope the pair you bought from me, eggs hatch. Can't wait to hear about your hatch. Pam

I have a broody on eggs too! I thought they'd hatch Tuesday, but I got one yesterday. Hoping the rest make it. I'm tempted to slip some extra chicks under her, but DH isn't on board. I honestly think he'd never notice, though. ;)

Wish I had a hen that was broody. Sure would make it easier to raise and intro into the flock any chicks that hatch. This is my first incubation and about a week in the temp was accidently turned up and went to 104 for overnight. So lost two eggs, one early on, one midway and one was nonfertile. So, now at 5 that were viable last week. Will candle them tonight and put them on lockdown. If I am doing lockdown too early plz let me know, today is day 18. :) My dtg has been watching them since Thursday for me and has been sending me updates daily.
