Morning y'all. Anyone else think that storm brought the mosquitoes with it? I got desperate yesterday and sprayed the coop down with Off! for pets, the kind you spray on a dog. At lockup they were still mosquito free.

No more mosquitoes than before here, but FLIES!!!! With all of the rain Sunday I feed them inside and now the flies are all over. Yuck.

Awesome work Cody! Thanks!
So it's looking like the fruit isn't good to eat...?

6 external pips this morning!

Yea! Pics when they get out!

.
the storm opened the door wide and ushered in tons of mosquitos. How are ur chickens doing since you sprayed the pet off? I may have to do that also :( fans/rosemary/mint, none are doing much good right now.

Still looking good! I didn't spray the birds, just the wood on the coop, inside and out. There are a few mosquitoes now, but nothing like yesterday.

Anyone know what this is? I found this tree on the other side of my fence. Those fruits are golfball sized and fuzzy, but they smell a little like persimmons. They have a thick skin like citrus. I have not opened one yet, but I picked up several from the ground.
We have always had this grow all over down by creek but I never knew what it was.

Hi Cody I know the livestock auction is tomorrow morning but I'm not sure if this includes birds. The schedule for the fair doesn't say exactly if chickens are part of the auction but I hope so since I have my eye on a blue EE roo and seriously considering a dairy goat to have milk for us and to finishing of our meat birds. Auction starts early hopefully see you there.

All I can see on the schedule is the "JR. Livestock Sale" at 8:00 A.M. Is this what your going to attend? If your gonna be there I may drive over also. I don't have much interest in the livestock but would like to see the poultry.

Mire, I bought some of the Barbexieux I have from Greenfire Farms through Rare Breed Auction. I read somewhere that Greenfire owns the auction.

Camping, I don't know, you may want to research eating it.

Edit: I'm thankful I don't have the mosquito problem everyone is talking about. Ruston is hill country so not a lot of breeding areas for them. I even live on a 9 acre pond and don't have a lot of them.
