"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

Hey guys and girls. Checking in from Vancouver Wa. And BOY is it different. Ha. Everybody is so nice. Veggie stands on almost every corner. I'm really sad that I can't have chickens. Just no room because the subdivision is on a hill. It slopes down back to front. They have a large deck so I can container garden.
Pam I love you. So sweet during my grief of Aimee's passing. I wanted you to know I'm adjusting to a new life. I will be happy here

Not sure right now...I am going to work on my run and coops, will be trying to separate a few breeds so I can hatch and sell a few chicks myself. What would you have available? I have a pair of cream legbars from Pam, I have blue and black orpington hens that I am working on getting a roo for. I have a road island red roo but he is not heritage breed :( He is from hatchery stock but I am attached so he stays and has his own Lil harem of a rir, new hampshire red, light brahma, two white leghorns, two barred rocks and of course until we find a roo for the orpingtons he takes care them too :)

Good to hear from you! I'm happy for you, that you're adjusting & going to be happy there. Sounds like a nice place (except for not being able to have chickens)!

Cody, bet you enjoy yourself on your farm. You have a garden, chickens and fish. That would be ideal for me.

I don't think I can call it a farm. The fish take care of themselves and I have no fall garden going.

But I guess I have farm chickens.

Linda, so glad to see you posting. I have thought about you a lot the past few months. I wish you were still here in LA.
I was so sorry to hear you lost your daughter. Really hope you have been doing ok.

Hey there neighbors! We got chickens for the first time this spring and I've learned a lot on this site as well as from some of the swaps I've been to. I have a quick question - where can I find some Ameraucanas close to Baton Rouge? My kids want some blue or green egg layers. I live about 20 mins North of BR. Thanks!!!!
