theres a swap at our Zach Tractor Supply on Nov. 7th!

Yeah looks like we are close. I'm from Zachary, moved a few miles to Pride/Central about 17 years ago. Yeah I try to make the swaps at TSC in Zachary as much as possible. It's only 5 mins from the house. Yes it started out as "something fun with the kids", and now I have way too many haahaaaa

Hey there neighbors! We got chickens for the first time this spring and I've learned a lot on this site as well as from some of the swaps I've been to. I have a quick question - where can I find some Ameraucanas close to Baton Rouge? My kids want some blue or green egg layers. I live about 20 mins North of BR. Thanks!!!!

Howdy neighbor ;-)
I'm looking for some blue and/or green egg layers too. I'll let you know when I find some available.
I have one FBCM x Ameraucanas that lays an olive egg, but she quit about 6 weeks or so ago to molt and hasn't started back yet.

Thanks! If you could let me know, I'd appreciate it. It seems that true Ameraucanas are hard to come by.

Not sure right now...I am going to work on my run and coops, will be trying to separate a few breeds so I can hatch and sell a few chicks myself. What would you have available? I have a pair of cream legbars from Pam, I have blue and black orpington hens that I am working on getting a roo for. I have a road island red roo but he is not heritage breed

He is from hatchery stock but I am attached so he stays and has his own Lil harem of a rir, new hampshire red, light brahma, two white leghorns, two barred rocks and of course until we find a roo for the orpingtons he takes care them too

I know someone who has nice lines of blue and black orp. I can ask if they have an extra roo. It's a "chicken friend" of a "chicken friend" kind of thing.

Great! I will keep that in mind. Am working on building more coops to separate them in. When I'm done I will need one.

Turk what's the chick count so far?

SECOND THAT :)

I have to go count! I just got home, made a new cotact today. I feel like its pretty solid, hes got alot of property and he raises all sorts a critters... He wants some of my green egg chicks :)

Ms Pam: i call them that because its totally not an olive color and i thought the 'easter' term descibed the cross bred pinks and blues? Am i wrong in that?

Counting...

(Last count was 35!) 9 Bresse, my nrowns an greens mixed up :he and Both isbars :D )

36 now, and another bresse egg is piped! I will candle tommrow morning, but im pretty sure that my last green egg and 2 of the last bresse eggs had passed, while removin chicks i semi candled, and they didnt draw down...
