This 4 plex we call chicken condos I have 4 runs 4 by 25 ft. We have a few other coops too. Pam

Nice! I like the separate runs

Cajun,
This is how I separate my breeds. I have (4) 10'x40' runs outside and (4) 6'x6' pens inside an old Morgan bldg I converted. This pic was taken nov 14 when we still had grass!

I like this as well. Do you have to put them in at night or do they go on their own?

Pam, my ccl finally started laying regular and I got 6 eggs in one week. So I am incubating them to see how they turn out. I will let you know how it goes. And my ccl roo has started romancing the other hens too. Even my husband :) He may not be too happy when my cockerels get older and I put him in separate breeding pen with the one ccl hen.

Great news I guess they just needed to mature. I have quite a few roosters and they get along together as long as they leave his hen's alone. Then he will chase them off. Pam

I just wanted to come and introduce myself...My name is April. I just got my babies on Jan 11th so I have just over a week of chick experience

We are totally new to chickens but my hubby wanted some for eggs and a neighbor was ordering some so we ended up with 3. They are from a hatchery. From what we can tell I think I have one Easter Egger, one Black Australorp, and one Barred Rock. Of course as chicks they are really hard to tell apart!! They are supposed to be all pullets so hopefully no surprises. I am in love with the already and am hoping to add a few more! I live in Port Allen, La. which is right outside of Baton Rouge. This page has been amazing. I have really just been reading tons of information and learning all kinds of stuff!

Here are a few pics of my babies. Maybe someone on here can tell what I have?
