Bet that was a cute site!!

I bet that was, as long as you didnt have any dogs chasing them. I had one that flew the coop yesterday and my lab got to it before I did. Poor thing has a V shape tail now. Her middle tail feather got plucked. She is fine though. Darn bird dogs.

We've taken the pen that the ducks were in and moved it around to the back of the large pen.DH is out there working on the fence now.Dropping the poles and concrete. Then gotta move the big brooder around to the side of the house.I will be working on putting the lattice on my chicken pens,of which the neighbor peacock has taken up residence in one..lol..,the lattice actually makes a good bit of difference when it comes to shading the pens.Finished the first pen yesterday, and put all the older tween Orps,a few silkies, and several of my Golden cuckoo project OEGB. They freaked out ,like seriously!!! The lavenders I've been treating for eyeworms is doing really good. Finally let them run the yard yesterday and they were bouncing all over the place.

Well,I've had my coffee so now I guess it's out to start the day...

I'm sitting here wondering if that wouldn't be the perfect solution to shading my grow out pens. Hubby and I were going to put a tin roof on it this coming weekend when we're off and my possible future son in law is getting some prices on some they have in the bent & damaged section. I will have to run that by my husband!! Thanks for the idea!!

Happy late B-day bhazell
Thanks everyone for offers of help and all I am sure someone will be getting this train run again before long. Its nice to know how everyone is willing to help each other if they can.

Kuntrygirl it would have been nice to get to come that way but Harry got in touch with me Friday night and being whiskybay needed the room fast I took the oppurtunity to save any distance.

Whiskeybay they are still havin a ball and yes they are in the big aviary with my other wild children that are all let back together since breeding is done for this year. I think its 1 big party out there for them right now

I started to do the tin,but it is soooo hot.It really makes it much hotter in the pens.My brooder coop is all open sides with only chicken wire around to keep anything locked in (or out if needed),and tin roof.It is soo hot under there. The tin magnifies the heat.I am going to use the poly roofing(plastic tin) on my PVC pens and converted kennels. The white poly actually makes a big difference.Once my chicken and pheasant pens are done,I will be revamping the brooder house, stripping the tin and replacing with the poly. The pens I'm working on now have plywood for roofing, because it was available for recycling...lol...The lattice is recycled, although I may have to invest in a couple extra sheets if I decide to go across the front of the pens between doors.which I believe I am. Besides the shade,it adds a nice 'touch up' to the whole wood and wire thing...lol...

So glad to hear they are still having a blast... After all the hustling bustling and wrestling yesterday,I'm sure they are absolutely stoked about the new place. As for the duck rodeo..

You know what really helps the tin is this paint like stuff. Not really sure what it's called like a coolant or something. I painted it on the tin I have on my big coop and don't have a huge problem with the heat in there!! I figured to cover this 8ft x 16ft section with new pieces of tin I'd need 16 10ft pieces which adds up to about $120. The lattice is 4x8 so I would need 4 pieces of that. Not sure how much it's running now. Haven't bought any in a few years!! Thanks again!
