Productive day today, nest boxes built, pirches for two chicken coops made that I've been saying I was gonna do. Crazzy how every weekend I've got chicken projects to do. I don't know what I would do I would be bored I guess if I ever catch up.

LaMike glad u got your ducks, I have to take a road trip one day and check out your setup. Got to be something to see.

Good morning everyone. I went out this morning to open the coops and I heard a lot of racket behind the chicken houses. I peeped around the corner and saw that the first group of muscovies that were hatched in 2011 were practicing. What were they practicing you ask? FLYING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yep, they figured what those thing-a-ma-jigs (wings) are that are attached to their bodies. Needless to say, some of them cleared the fence and took a spin around the property. I wasn't worried when I saw them take off in flight because past experiences are that they don't go anywhere. They just fly around the yard.
