"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

So, I mentioned my chicken with diarrhea and a prolapsed vent. The diarrhea has been persistent over several days but does seem to be improving. The brown is fairly firm, but the white (urine) is still running down her backside and drying like cement, but not attaching to the brown poop as usual. Using cortisone on the prolapse after cleaning. Feeding FF, scrambled egg and some yogurt. Any other ideas?

Not too familiar with this, but I find my birds have the best poo when they eat just their food.

I understand you may be giving yogurt for the probiotics and beneficial cultures, but too much can actually cause diarrhea...

Why did you decide to do scrambled eggs? Genuinely curious!
I hope your baby gets better soon.
:hugs

Several people I trust suggested the diet. I don’t give a lot of yogurt. Mainly FF.

I have read to give eggs as a treat about once a week, not sure about how it could help with diarrhea. Lots of protein I’m sure! I don’t think it’s unhealthy, but not sure if it is best for the digestive system. I would stick to just FF and maybe give the yogurt and eggs once or twice a week instead of daily, if you aren’t already.

Hi folks.

I live in Denham Springs, probably the worst city I've ever lived in as far as keeping chickens goes. I used to have chickens, more than a decade ago... had them right up until I joined the military and moved away, and have wanted poultry again since. I am currently building a quail hutch and hope to get a few for eggs, and eventually meat. I'm leaning towards Jumbo's but also thinking about Texas A&M's... Though I know my wife, and my 2 year old son, would enjoy a splash of color in the enclosure. So I may end up growing my flock in the future, which will mean more enclosures..lol
