"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

:D

While my chickens do get food scraps, I don't think I have ever given them a chicken carcass on purpose. But they have probably had a few bones over the years, like from Popeye's or KFC.

We just got our first eggs! My spouse and I were just chatting about this on a drive, saying basically that even if these chickens never lay any eggs, we're glad to have them as spoiled rotten pets. But now 2 of our 4 ladies are laying, and it's THE COOLEST THING! The first two eggs were in random spots in the yard, but then they found a little nook between a new and old fence. We laid some hay there and put down a little plastic easter egg, and this morning there were two more! Now I want to abandon all my work and home responsibilities so that I can just watch them to see which ones are laying. This is ridiculous. :D

Hi! I am doing a science fair project with poultry, and I will be hatching different breeds of chickens to see which breeds have the best hatching rates, and I will monitor the development. They will all be pure breeds of whichever ones I choose (haven't decided yet). I cannot keep them once they hatch due to city ordinances. Would anyone be willing to take them? Anywhere in or surrounding Baton Rouge would be ideal, to ensure chick health/survival. I'm not sure when I will be hatching them yet, but it will be within the next year. I just need to find someone who would take them, because if I cannot find anyone, I will not be able to do this project. If someone is willing to take chicks, but wants a certain breed/breeds, please reply with the breed(s) and your location, and I'll try to select those breeds. I will probably have anywhere from 30-50 chicks. If you're interested, please reply or pm me!!! Also, if anyone in the Baton Rouge area sells hatching eggs (or if you can ship from further away), please let me know! I'd rather buy local than from a big hatchery. :)

I can take chicks but will need to know about a week ahead of hatching so I can set up a brooder. I am okay with any breed except the meat breeds. I have all mixed up chickens so I can't really offer hatching eggs. I can take up to 20 chicks at a time and I will pay you for them!

Okay here, lost one pen to the top of a cedar tree. It smushed the fence. That's so little damage compared to what others have had I won't even complain.
