Turkey is still hanging in there. I go out several times a day to make sure he eats and drinks. It may be my imagination, but I think he may be getting a bit of color back in his head. No more dead birds so far. My 2 month old Embden drips that clear fluid that some of the chickens did, but shes still eating and drinking. The goat seems to be moving around more. We just have to hang on until Monday or Tuesday for diagnosis. In the meantime, I'm still adding low dose antibiotics and vitamins to all the waterers.

Just got a call from Dept of Ag. He said preliminaries on the necropsy show that they have some kind of worm (cant remember the name) that the regular treatments of Wazine werent taking care of. I went and bought some ivermectin. Need to read up on dosages now. He said the blood tests will be done Monday and he'll let me know about those at that time.

A worm? WOW!!! Well that is something that can definitely be treated. WHEW!!!!!!! Good news so far.

Im glad they atleast called you back and gave you a little something.

Our Winnie is doing great with her recovery and Sunday afternoon we are going to put her pool up so she can begin swimming therapy for her leg -- I'll be sure & get some pics -- she has a bright lime green "Outward Hound" life-jacket, lol! She's a little fur-person & I was afraid to put her in water over her head as she's never swam before.

Alas -- a worm? really? please let us know what kind it was! I rotate wormers regularly so hopefully can catch 99% of them -- ivermectrin is good stuff, hope it works for you!

Julie,I'm not in much better shape that you.Not sure what time I went to bed,but didn't sleep good.ugghh. I looked at CL this morning and see an ad from someone who has been trying to bash me for the last few months. Well,she's trying to sell eggs and some chickens.She claims to have hatched them all from her own eggs and claims them to all be pure but at the same time insists that they are free range and have NEVER been locked up.She has MANY different types of birds running around off the highway and junk.How can you insist your birds are pure when you have a multitude of different breeds running loose together? Oh she says oh they all stay to their own kind...They don't go by each other.... ??? Long story....just chaps my azz..... We went by to see what she had and she had like 20 silkie babies crammed into a cage and a bunch of sick BCM shoved into a small rabbit hutch.Several chicken tractors around.Some with birds locked in them.... Kinda contradictory huh? I questioned her about it.Pizzed her off.So now It always happens that I put something up for sale and she starts bashing me.Then a day later one of her posts pops up.Like I'm competition? And I mean like a freakin stalker.She advertised my name,where I lived,my vehicle,my BYC name,and said I'm not even a blonde. That freaked me out so I changed my profile pic to the OEGB thats there now. She saw it!!! She publicly said if I wasn't tryin to hide I'd left my face up there!!!! I dont want a thousand people knowing what I look like and my address...You know how many fugged up in the head people there are out there? We all always have chciken projects going on don't we? She come by to by some showgirl chicks one time.We had just gotten the house finished to move in,had lots of boxes on the front porch for 'storage' while unpacking,the yard was mostly dirt from having dirt brought in to level and raise parts.Temporarily my bantams were penned off the ground 'by breeds' in 3x3 pens (usually a pair or trio) in nice shed.I had Blue tarps on the far backside to add shade where the sun came in,but had them where it attached to the fence,so like an awning,for airflow.and a couple goats,with a temporary fence across the back.We just did the fence(had to wait for the mobile home to be moved out) so some of the poles still stuck up and needed to be cut.She didn't say to my face,but stuck her nose up at it.what? You think you can just snap ur fingers and everything be done and beautiful? Hubby worked nights/I worked days....We worked around house when we could.Agghhh she bugs the crap outta me. Thinks she's better than everyone else.Uses her kid as an excuse for her fantasy world.

Terri..I know how ya feel.I went through it last year. I helped put the store up,stocked the shelves,worked in the heat and no lights to get her going after KAtrina.Then last year they pop in,start calling all the employees in, and announce they are shutting us down.In 8 weeks time we watched everything go to hell.Then had to tear everything down and sell off all the same stuff I'd put up right after Katrina.They never even offered us jobs in other stores.Just told us we were welcome to reapply to other stores(however they weren't hiring).Sooo we all ended up in he unemployment line...But that's how all your large corporations go... I know I'll never spend another penny in there. I use a local hardware store now.

Gah is it just me who constatly thinks about crazzy chickens, I mean like what I want to get, what I want to let go, which one can I move from here to there ect.

Oh, I just love swimming therapy? I love to see doggies swimming. I can't wait to see the pics. Does Winnie have a one piece or bikini?
