Kuntrygirl, it's a good thing that you're very patient. I would have probably already bagged that rabbit thinking, "I'd rather eat the rabbit rather than feed it to a coyote". I'm surprised that he's survived for this long on his own. I hope you can catch him soon.

Yea, I'm trying to work with the little guy because I really do like him and I know he is only doing what is rabbit is supposed to do and also because it was my fault that I didn't secure his hutch. It's not his fault. So, I will continue to try to catch him.

hmm.png

I've had that happen to me a couple of times. Once they're free they can be little stinkers to catch. It sounds like a live trap would be a could solution.

Twiley!?????????????? Thanksgiving dinner? You're joking right?

We are NOT supposed to eat geese!!!!!! It's blasphemy!!!!!!!! Say it ain't so!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Blasphemy? Why is it blasphemy? I can't use him for breeding, he's ugly as sin because his wings look like airplane wings (serious angel wings), he's not friendly, I can't sell him, and he's not right in the head. I have no use for him and don't want to feed him forever. Geese can live to be 20+ years. Besides, haven't you ever heard of "Christmas Goose"? Ok, maybe I'll eat turkey for Thanksgiving and goose for Christmas.

LOL @ airplane wings

Yes, I have heard of Chrismtas goose but I didn't really think that people actually eat goose.

But I understand your situation.

You gotta do what you gotta do. Have you ever eaten goose? What does it taste like?

Yes; planning for my breeding stock to use in spring. I'm ordering a book for breeding to the standards of perfection and will cull my flock accordingly.

Also, planning my building needs to house my adults for the fall/winter. Next year, I hope to have a large grow out pen and a meat pen for my culls. Also, need a couple large pens for the goslings I hope to hatch next spring, God willing. I will keep those little Muscovy mommas busy hatching goose eggs.

Kuntrygirl fill your live trap with lettuce and carrots and that little guy will come home real soon.

Had an awesome day today for a change. Got with a buddy of mine that builds drag cars for NHRA to look at what my wife calls my bubba truck lol. Ended up fixin my big 4 wheel drive on the bent to HE77 bumper ,door handles and knarly chrome. Came out with a big ole truck with a shiny new facelift and a all else fixed with a 3 inch line gas trash pump for free. I am cooking that ole boy some seafood boudain stuffed quail , barbecue ribs and Jumbo bacon wrapped 6-8 shrimp and still feel like I owe him lol. The trash pump alone is worth more than anything I am gonna feed him

Hope everyone is doing great tonight cause we gonna eat good

You may want to complete your application for the "I Need To Thin My Flock Out" club. Please dial 1-800-step-away-from=the-incubator for more details.

I'm already thinning and still have a few eggs in the bator.I actually turned 2 off and posted one for sale.

...lol... I hatched 5 bantams that a friend gave me and I already gave them to a friends daughter.

You're talking about next spring?????!!!!!!!!!! OMG!!!!!!

I'm closing shop. I'm putting the sign on the door as we speak. I"M DONE !!!!!!!!!!!

The birds I have now are in the grow out stage.I will seperate the culls and roos for meat and keep just a couple roos of each breed for the hen's Spring breeding purposes.Gonna hang on to my various colored orps of course,my BLRW,Silkies, and the few BR I have. Still haven't decided on the Golden Cuckoos. I dont know yet if I have any GCM roos in the bunch!!!! Doesn't look like it.

I thought about the live trap but my animals are scoundrels and I would end up catching the darn chickens.

Sounds like you had a great day. That meal sounds like AMAZING!!!!!!!!!! You have a very good friend to help you with all of that. Isn't that a great feeling.
smile.png

And YES, I do have some scovys that need to be GONE GONE GONE. How many do you want?
gig.gif
PM me and let me know. I was out earlier and I stumbled on a couple more muscovy nests. Looks like the nest hatching could be as many as 40 more muscovys. What was that 1-800 number that I gave out earlier? I need to call it.

Mike, on the animals -- let me know what you want picked up. Not a problem as long as I can find room for them. Let me know how many we're talking about.
