No, I never got the chance to get the crates. It's been too hot on the weekend to do anything. I try not to get out in that heat. I will get them as soon as it cools off.

Well,How many of us have melted today? It's really gettin horrible out there. Can't wait till October. That's when the cooler stuff starts coming in...I managed two wheelbarrows or sand in the runs this evening...ugghh... Well,I was originally preoccupied moving brooders around and pulling more cages out,so we can start tearing down the front half of the old pen.he back half is going to stay and be converted to kennels for the hunters.Got all the currently not in use feeders and waterers pickes up and most of them cleaned and disinfected and put up for storage.I'll work on the rest tomorrow. We have to deliver a couple Cur pups to Pearl River, then back home to the thing known as an A/C (however it's 80 in here on a normal day.)
Once I get the sand in the runs,I'll get the roof finished and put in the waterlines for the auto waterers.Got to build the new stall after the kennels are done. Then figure out how I'm going to get a 12x24' slab torn up. Any ideas????

I'm anxiously awaiting Fall...But I GOTTA get this done... The cooler season turns into the wetter season here. So I want all my pens filled in and done for my babies. I want the kennels done,so we can get the dogs in them. And Steve has to have a stall for winter (Even though he never knew what a stall was till he came here.) None of it is very hard, just the doing it all by myself (for the most part) issue... I'm more used to the heat than the rest.... lol... I grew up on a racetrack and barn...A/c was the coolness from the water hose...lol... Excersizing 20-30 horses a day or baling and stacking hay is NOT fun...lol...Not saying I could ever be that fit again...lol...but can still handle the heat for the most part. (doesn't mean I like it..lol) Most everything is being reused for one thing or another, but it's the arranging of what's coming down first or going up first...lol...The old part of the old coop comes down and the tin goes to the new coops, the wood frames the back new part for the kennels. Some of the wood and tin goes towards the stall. Just have to buy some 1x12's and hinges...lol...Waterlines from the coop will go into the new runs for the waterers.Cages from the rabbits, quail etc go out front for sale...lol... Got one load of sand.Gotta get it dispersed... lol....

I had to rescue one of the weiner dogs from the koi pond...lol... I have one of the HUGE black rubbermaid livestock tanks, with plants and koi in it. The horse drinks out of it and the chickens do too.Well, the dog was standing on his back legs trying to get water (yes there are 3 other troughs made from blue barrels split in half around the back, but he insisted on this one today) .Well he watched all the chickens come over, jump up and drink water....Well,he jumped up,and... fell in.... chickens sitting on the side looking like...you got me wet.... whatcha do that fer?....lol... dumbazz...lol...
Well I'm outta here.Gotta get up early to deliver those pups....LAta...

Got a pleasant surprise this week , was able to order 15 Blue Red laced wyans and 1 roo roo ! Will be at Petrus Feed Mill in Alex on the 24th . Yippeee , plus I sold some of my Golden Laced , a sexlink and two buff orphs to make room for the ever increasing family . There is no way I can keep 15 BRLW's , will have to sell at least 6 of them . Sold all my fantail pigeons too . Bought a really nice 8x12 portable building that is about 8 and a half high at the top , has two windows and a nice wide door . It is framed really well on the inside and the underneath is 2x12 beams , it's on skids and has a 3/4 inch ply floor . The top on the inside is insulated but I will have to insulate the walls and have someone put a roof whirly gig thing to help draw out the heat . The pigeons will get that , and the chickens will get a 30x10 run and their existing coop . Things are coming together . Got the building from a man down the street for a nice price and a friend moved it FREE for me . Just need a better brooder pen and an incubator now . May see how much Petrus is asking for their incubators when I go to pick up the chicks . Definitely want to raise Blues and if need be pigeons from the egg . The solid white Racing Homers and Satinettes will get one side of the shed and the other the Modenas will get . Will have to construct a divider in the shed with a door to access both sides . Will build new flights to attach against the building so i can open the window ,and they can go in and out .

I feel lazy after reading all that you do. Makes me wanna get out there and FIND something to do instead of sitting inside like a bump on a log.
