"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

I made some really nice fairly cheap brooders.I used 2 1x12's for the sides(cut each into a 3' and a 5' piece)I used 1/2 X 1 welded wire, but hardware cloth works good too.(I have one with it.) and hardware cloth across the top with a couple hole cut in the top for doors. My light can just set on top or clamp on.I added a support across the top and some 1x2 liners along the top and bottom outside to hold wire in place AND prevent cuts. They have worked very well for me.For extra warmth I just put feed bags over the top to hold the heat in and they get air from the bottom.

55 degrees outside this morning.

Good morning.

These people have some nice silver laced Terri. http://fowlrus.blogspot.com/p/orpington.html

Hope
everyone's doing great . Lost all but 1 of my RP turkey in 1 night. Not sure who's the culprit but took 5 grown hens and 1 grown tom in 1 night.
So we are back to booby trapping the world over here again. I got a serious score to settle with something.
Installing under ground electric fence for my pyrenees to have full run on the property and hoping that will put a permanent end to the predator game.
Loving this weather hope ya'll are to.

My brooder is hardware cloth & I have clips on the top plus I run a couple of those stretchy cords with hooks on both ends to secure it.

Thanks for the info Mike! and enabling my addiction.

OK everybody, PLEASE CROSS FINGERS & TOES FOR ME!!!
I just applied for the position of office manager for the Stine store here. It's what I did the past nine years anyway, and they have BENEFITS!!!!

Of course, in building materials, everybody knows everybody, so I called to ask one of the sales guys there to put in a good word for me, and the store GM answered the phone.

My friend was out on the road, so I told the GM who I was (Jim's wife - my husband has over 36 years in building materials & has called on practically the whole state at one time or another) --

so here I am -- I have over 20 years experience in building materials, I need a job, I can start tomorrow----well, he got all excited & said he was calling the corporate office right then & have them download my app.

So, I think I'll get an interview out of this, anyway...

Me, three!!! Missi hope your headache is gone now!

I had the sinus headache from hell this morning but it's going away now, been running back & forth to my folks' house -- Mom took both the flu and the pneumonia vaccines yesterday & reacted horribly to the pneumonia one -- her arm is swollen & red from her shoulder to her elbow & she is running fever & nauseated & sick as a dog - in bed - she will be 80 next month -- stubborn as an ox, too. I just gave her a benadryl, some chicken noodle soup & iced tea & sent her back to bed. I just hate to see my folks getting so fragile as they age.

Steve is one beautiful pony!

Cadjien, thanks for the laugh--- you bet I was turning cartwheels yesterday when I saw the internet back up!!!!

Terri, I sure hope your Mom is feeling better today!! Keeping
