"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

Terri Ann,..you were on the right tract,. I must disagree with GLBRWyans on this

For night time leg cramps/spasms,.that come from overworking muscles or profuse sweating,...Take magnesium and calcium,. and eat your banana's and drink your juice,.. Calcium allows muscles to contract, and magnesium allows them to relax. People are more likely to be deficient in magnesium, Take one of the dosages at bedtime.
Most Americans do not get enough potassium in their diets. The recommended daily potassium intake is 4.7 grams a day and you would have to eat a lot of Nanners and juice to due harm to your heart,.. in fact not enough potassium can be a contributing factor in Hypertension,.. and dietary potassium is the best way to get it,..

Folic acid is good if taken synergistically with the other B vitamens,.. and it takes a while ( days or weeks) for it to work,. and it only works for cramps if you are deficient in these nutrients. It is, however one of the most important nutrients for soon to be mommies

Thank you also. We are heading to the Ortho. Dr. in a few minutes for his 1st checkup & will discuss all of this with him. I really think the problem is Jim is just not used to hopping on one leg with crutches & his muscles have to get adjusted to not only his body weight but also the weight of the plaster cast he is wearing. I told him, he is going to have great upper body strength & muscles by the time this is all over!

Such a beautiful day, hope everybody is enjoying at least part of it. My chickens are all ticked off because they are confined to their run until I get the fall garden fenced off (tomorrow's project) so they can run free again in the afternoons. I did get some satsumas picked off my tree & shipped off some to my MIL in Wisconsin, my good friend in NY & my favorite aunt in MS, some to my folks & saved a half dozen for us. They are tart but so good!
I should've planted two of those trees. I had no idea they were so flavorable; they have oranges beat hands down & aren't seedy like tangerines.

Terri, hope Jim's appt went well. I keep forgetting to ask you how your Winnie's doing since her surgery?? Hope all is well.

We have a couple of Satsuma trees and got tons about a weeks or so ago. I'm now waiting on the persimmions to ripen. A friend's mom makes the best Persimmion Nut Bread and I wanna try to make some!!

Apt went well in that nothing "moved" so he is still in a plaster splint for another week & then into a cast & then if all goes well, in 5-6 weeks into a walking cast. (sigh) it's a long process, but it could be so much worse, so trying *very hard* to find the good in this.

Winnie is doing fine thank you for asking; sorry I never got a pic of her in her swimming pool & bikini - I always was the one in there w/her & every pic Jim took came out blurred & awful!

My cousin has a persimmon tree & offers them every year but I always turn him down because they taste so awful just 'off the tree' & I dont' know what else you would do w/them. The bread sounds good!

Of all the shipped eggs I've hatched, the ones from Texas did the worst - something about their postal system, I'm convinced -- I've had zero to 2 eggs hatch on Texas eggs & 100% on eggs from Oklahoma, go figure!! and the PO wonders why they are bankrupt.

Have a good one everybody!

I caught all the four roos tonight & they are in a crate & tomorrow morning I will dispatch them. No more roos here. I've had enough & I know the hens have, too.

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Ladies, please don't forget to get your mammos done.

We have our annual event tonight that we volunteer for and help out each year. It's so nice to see so many survivors. Makes you think about how lucky you are that you have not been through what these strong women AND men have been through. Hug a survivor when you see her or him.

Hi everyone. Im interested in raising some ducks. This project will kick into gear for Spring and I was wondering if anyone had any in the SouthWest Louisiana area that might be willing to part with some hatching eggs come Spring. I could trade some silkie eggs or sebright eggs. I am also getting olive egger eggs and would trade those for duck eggs as well. Also I have some Mille Fluer OEGB's that should be laying in a few months.

Thanks, Mike.
