GLBRWyans, I emailed the farm about the Alpacas but they don't have any for sale. Do you know anyone who sells Llamas? I have thought and thought and thought about it and I think I have concluded that Llamas will be my guard animal. Everything that I have read says that a Llama will stomp a predator to death. I think that's what I need. Every now and then stray dogs will roam in my yard and the neighbor's dog will get out of their gate and wonder in my yard. In the event that dog got in my chicken yard and I'm not home, I would want the Llama to kill the dog if the dog is trying to kill my chickens. I read that Alpacas are not good guard animals. They will run away from a predator right along with the other animals. As cute as Alpacas are, I don't see them as good guard animals.
