Good morning everybody! Nice to see you checking in Cadjien; beautiful gamebirds & love your hoop cages! Now if I built me some of those, I could get Seramas - have always been fascinated by those tiny birds!

My peas were raising quite a ruckus this morning - yesterday evening I spent some time with them, feeding them treats of mustard clippings & elbow macaroni - now they think they should have something every time they see me. I have to get some pics of them to post, they sure are getting big now!

Have your hens started moulting anybody? My Welsummers look like moths got hold of 'em! Poor things, if these mornings keep being so chilly I may have to knit them sweaters!

I'd love to see some pics of your peacocks. Sounds like you've spoiled them for sure!

On the subject of molting: I have 4 barred rocks who look horrible right now. No one has any tail feathers! Their pen looks like a down pillow exploded! Poor things....they look miserable. And absolutely no egg-laying is going on in there.

I don't have any molting right now. Sure wish some some of them would they look pretty rough. Still have a few bareback from when I had my last roosters months back.

YUM! I have a deer roast in the crockpot as we speak! We don't hunt but my cousin does & nobody but him likes venison so we get to share in the spoils.

OK I got new batteries for the camera so will try & get some pea pics to post this evening!

Don't forget the time change tomorrow! Not fond of this one, don't like it getting dark so early.​

Gracie, one of the two geese I bought from you this spring lost her virginity this morning.

When I was feeding and watering the geese this morning I heard a lot of commotion. I turned my attention to the pen where all of the ruckus was coming from and noticed that the white gander had mounted the young female. She was screaming and trying to get away but he had already decided that he was going to finish the deed. As she hopped out of the pool, he pursued and never let her up until he was done. Poor little thing was screaming all the while. When he was done he returned to the pool and she ran off flapping her wings. However, much to my surprise, A few seconds later she returned to the pool where the gander was bathing and sat beside the pool.

I think she decided that she liked it after all. That little hussie!!!
