I do it by myself. I lasso them up and hog tie them and commence to trimming. I think we should have a sheep hoof trimming contest. That would be a lot of fun. :gig
I'll warn you, I've gotten pretty good at it!

This video is a pretty good demonstration of how I do mine. I don't know what it is about sitting them down like that, but once they are in that position they don't struggle much at all. Not something to be done on my big pregos though! They look like some little hippos right now! I think I should have my first lambs of the year in a couple weeks. My Lola is looking pretty large and in charge. Her bag has grown a lot in the past week.
About 5 years ago when I got sheep, I read about sitting them down to trim hooves. Mine seem to be more comfortable when they are laying on their side. And it makes it much easier for me. This weekend is trim weekend. :/

Not any more !!!!!!!!!!

HEY YA'LL !!!!!!!!!!

:weee

I was so sleepy last night, I turned in early and didn't get out of bed until 6:20 AM and that's late for me. I'm looking forward to some nice days to come. I'm so excited about Daylight Savings Time. I live for this time of the year. :celebrate

Good morning everybody !!!!!!!!!!!!

Kinda cold out this morning. I could have had gumbo for breakfast but didn't have any on hand. ;)

I am FINALLY getting my dump truck load full of sand delivered this morning !!!!!!!! :weee :celebrate :ya :cd

I'm so excited, I think I will just roll around in it when I get home. THANK GOODNESS !!!!!!!!!!!

I have a list full of chores for the weekend. Sand will be going in the pea pen, stalls, chicken houses, and everywhere else. Construction on another chicken coop and another Pea pen and another grown out pen will happen this weekend. I think I begged enough for another covered feeder that will hold about 500 lbs of feed. This will help me not to do my daily feeding. I have been tossing around the idea of a rain barrel/watering system but that is looking like a project for later in 2013 or 2014. I'm hoping. :fl

Morning all! Tired this morning. I had a hard time forcing myself out of bed. Looking forward to tomorrow--early dismissal for me and Spring Break begins! Whoo Hoo!

I'll spend the whole week building more coops..., but at least I can get things accomplished.

Sounds like you had the same kinda morning that I did. It was VERY hard getting out of my warm bed. You and I have the same kinda work to do this weekend.

Morning here -- yes, it was hard to get out of bed but my two little Cocker clowns pawed & barked & carried on until I did -- you know I haven't fed them in about a week at least so they were STARVING!

Kind of stiff in the back today; overdid things yesterday (repotting garden plants & working up the garden) time to row it up today! Whoo-hooo!!!

Must be something in the air (maybe the cold?

). I had to drag myself out this morning as well. I agree with you kuntrygirl! So excited for daylight savings time! By the time I get home in the evenings, I only have an hour or so of daylight to get things done.

Does this mean things will be an hour warmer when we get up Sunday morning, or just everything's an hour later than Saturday morning?
