"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

Goodness ya'll have been busy! congratulations on all the new babies & welcome all the new members! Been busy putting up birdhouses here - because you can never have enough birds, right?! These are my Dad's newest designs & color patterns. He loves to make birdhouses of all shapes & sizes & colors. Dad's 80 now & woodworking is his hobby - he also builds other things. The bluebirds are already moving in so they like them, too!

Those are too wonderful! How cute! At first I thought "what's the handle on top for?" Duh. How clever!! I bet the birds love them.

Wayne, the jelly was DELICIOUS! What time will you be getting to the swap on Saturday? I will be needing at least 2 jars of each flavor if you have them! If you could hold onto them for me that would be great. This is what I woke up to find Saturday morning! While I was hoping for a girl, he sure is a handsome little guy!
What a beautiful baby!!!

See, that's exactly what I told him! Thank you for your kind words!

He doesn't think his work is "good enough" for anybody to actually pay money for them. I know better!

I can take pics of his other styles if you're interested. He does a "Church" house & a "Cat face" house & one w/a cute picket fence around it -- he really does have an artistic side which he won't admit to. we probably have 200 of his birdhouses that he's made over the years since he retired -- along w/feeders & other things. He also made a set of minature birdhouses for Mom to use as Christmas ornaments -- and also some to put in our house plant pots.

I have a "magazine table" -- that sucker was $400 in a catalog I saw -- & Dad & Jim built it for me for about $30 worth of materials -- it's perfect. From a little photo in a catalog -- but better wood & workmanship. They can do stuff like that. Both are not only master woodworkers, but they have a dream workshop -- some of the equipment in it was out of the old Davidson Sash & Door mill where Jim & I worked the first years of our lives -- we got the machinery for free -- sent off for parts, reworked & repaired it & it works just as well today as when it was in production.

Hi everybody, I have shoveling poop out of the barn all weekend and am exhausted, it took a pick ax in some places to get down to the sand layer. LOL Welcome to the new folks and great pictures everyone!
Congratulations on the lamb and all the fuzzy buts. Boy that fat legged chicken gave me nightmares! LOL
On another note, the Midget Whites a got from Flocksalot, hatched Friday and what feisty little fuzzy buts they are! At one day old, they are were already working on pecking order, pulling each other's beaks! The eggs were shipped from MN. last month in some really bad weather, and I got 11 poults out of 16 eggs. For shipped eggs I think that's great! I highly recommend her if you are looking for Midget Whites. She is a very nice, reliable and reasonable person. I have been 100% satisfied! Here are the new poults:

Sorry I take lousy pictures because I can't hold the camera still, but they are healthy and lively!
Out on the 11, I think 4 are hens and 7 are toms, But time will tell. I banded their legs.

Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend, it's suppose to rain tonight and tomorrow! Oh well, I need a break!LOL
They're so cute! I can't wait to follow their progress as they grow.
