"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

Has anyone gotten "sample eggs" yet this year? You know the ones hens lay when they first start to lay, about the size of a marble with no yolks? I got the first one for this year in a nest today and am wondering what causes it?:/
there isn't really a "cause" that I know of. It just happens. Things will straighten out. Just a little malfunction.

I have gotten two of them & they are from my older hens who took a long break moulting & what-not -- so I guess they just need to "jump-start" their laying patterns again! Everybody has gone back to normal size eggs since then.

First, and most pressing question I have is for anyone local capable of building a coop...... I have access to 100+ wooden pallets, but I'm no carpenter, and my husband just doesn't have the time. If I provide as many pallets as available (that you want), is there someone that could build a reasonably priced stationary 4x4ish coop to sit inside an enclosed chicken yard?
