All the birds I've ever gotten from Ideal have been hardy and exactly what I ordered. They won't be show quality, but if you are just looking for a backyard flock then they are an excellent choice! What exactly are you looking for in a chicken? Meat, eggs, just something pretty to look at? Do you want something to free range, or will they be more confined. Let us know, and we can come up with some good suggestionsI'd love to see some pictures! I know it is a relatively rare/new color, so I sort of feel like I hit the jackpot just now. And thank you for the info! I'll steer clear of the gold laced.
Yes, the travel time is my biggest concern. Plus, I like to get an idea of the quality and temperament of the birds. How good is Ideal poultry? Do you generally get the correct breed and physically sound birds? I know places like mypetchicken sometimes sell the wrong breed.
