"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

I also like the idea of bees, but they would have to be FAR away from the house. A dog or something bothers them and they come out. Oh no. Not worth it if someone gets stung.

How much water can these birds drink! I am 90% sure my waterer is leaking. I can go out an hour after filling it and its dry. Then other times it'll last all day (but I change it often when I'm there because they stand on top and poop in the water) It's a big TSC waterer.

Terri - Did you mention a few pages back you were running a chicken workshop (can't remember exactly what you said) this weekend?

I'll be doing two chicken workshops Saturday at the Lunch & Learn event at the store. We're going to move the chicken bus close by. It's only basic information - nothing you don't already know for sure! - just info for people who want to get started with a little backyard flock. I'll have some of the chicks crated up to show off the breeds - cochins, blue andalusian, marans, etc. Debating on touring the barn as well. Right now praying it doesn't rain! Workshops are hour long events & cost is $10. Lunch is $7 (roasting some pigs, slaw & pasta salad).

Your waterer does sound like it's leaking -- check your seal & be sure it's completely secure all the way around. Run a piece of wire (clothes hanger or something) on top so they won't perch on it.
