I am having a miserable turkey hatch. One won't stand and the second hatched with only two toes on one foot. None of the others--even the chicken eggs in with them are trying to pip. Every deal I thought I had for Swedish Flower Hen pullets fell through so now I have to commence to setting eggs and waiting for them to grow up. Grrrrrr.

I have had a chicken with the intestine hanging out --but mine hatched that way. Three of them. I looked it up--caused by temperature spikes or drops that went on too long. I found online it said to use a damp qtip to push the intestine back in and bandaid it shut. I did...one survived and is healthy. It is a shame yours didn't make it.
So sorry about your hatch.

Just wondering, if you put a bandaid on it, how does it poop? I was curious because I had one baby die with pasty butt (my first chick and didn't know what was wrong before it was too late). So, if pasty butt can kill, why wouldn't a bandaid. Sad about your Swedish Flower Hen pullets, too.

The intestine will be hanging out of the umbilical opening and not the vent. You just have to carefully wrap the bandaid so it covers the umbilical hole and leaving the vent clear.

Yeah I know it I'm bout a week or more behind on everthing Sandy. Since I been sick with the cruds I just do get the chores done much less anything else(as in making money) which has got to get back in the making again things are getting tight and thin around here. I got more to do than two people should have to do much less work in between time. LOL hoping to get caught up on a bunch this weekend,

No one is on-line!!! I want to scream with joy that I have 2 new fuzzy butts. You guys have made me green with envy and so hungry for some babies. You really are enablers. Samantha, thank you so much for the sweet babies. Your family is so beautiful and it was especially nice to meet you. It's so peaceful out there where you are.

I have to show you my new babies. Their names are Elizabeth and Amanda. We really hope they are girls, otherwise they will be Burt and Andy. We took some great fotos and video with my camera, but I don't know how to upload from that camera, but this will give you an idea, taken with my phone:
