"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

NOLA Chicks, the wine was delicious. I used green grapes this time. I prefer the red grapes. I think that will next after the pineapple.

I'll have to get my carpenter to build me a wine rack. Too bad that I don't have a wine cellar. But then again, it's good that I don't have one. I would probably live in that thing.

The good thing is that if you drink it fast enough, you don't need a wine cellar!

...and yes, thank goodness for our DH's and their ability to understand that it's better to support us with our obsessions than try to fight it.

Chicken belle, I'm really sorry you are having a hard time with your orps. We will all have to reap what we sew. I know a guy pretty close to me that has jubilees. I can check and see if he has any for sale if you like. They are really nice birds.

I had a little better luck at the PO this morning. My Bielefelder pair came in.

Meet Ozzie and Harriet
Congratulations! Very handsome pair and I love the names!!

It was such a pretty day that I let the chicks out for their first outside time this afternoon. They're a month old today. They were able to roam around securely in the run while the big girls were free ranging in the yard. They scratched around in the new sand, ate some tiny grub worms, took a dust bath and then a nap in the sun. All in all, a very good day.

The big chickens weren't too sure how they felt about the little chickens taking over their run. LOL

Happy Mother's Day to all you moms! I hope everyone had a wonderful day! :) I'm trying to play catch-up from the past week. I've been so busy that I haven't been able to get in my daily BYC fix. The horror lol!
Yes, that is exactly what I am referring to. There is a link that I can send you and the t ype of soil that you have is already listed with the USDA. There is also info where you can send you soil off to be tested and they will give you a full report as far as what type, problems, etc. In my soil testing class this weekend, they gave us the website to go to to find this info. I typed in my address and it showed me an aerial view of my property and the types of soil that I have. I was able to speak with the guy and we talked about my soil and planting, etc. I can send you that link and walk you through it and give you the info for the soil testing. You are right on target in your thinking. ;)
This sounds awesome! Will you please send me the info?

Welcome! I'm in Brusly. I'm sure I'll see you at a swap or two!

Ozzie and Harriet are beautiful! Congrats! Please let us know their weights once mature if you can. There is quite a bit of conflicting information out there. GFF is advertising a much larger size than breeders from other countries. I'm wondering if they have some different genetics at work or if is diet based?
