Crud and back at work?I'm still fighting this crudI'm back at work today, but I don't think I should be. This has been going on for about a week now. Hopefully they will find something in the test result. I'm going to be really mad if I get the "just a virus" explanation. I've never had one last this long!

What a great children's book about the lady with the peas that later roam wild in the woods and a person years later finds their old cages and that's when she hears the story. You could do something like finding the old cages first, then the people tell the story of the old lady and the book continues right there. I can just see it now The Old Lady and the Peas, and, of course, everyone will think it's about green peas to eat until they read the story. And, just imagine what great artwork of the woods, old cages and the beautiful colorful peas up high in the branches. And, a lesson or two about birds, kindness, wildlife, etc. LOL Of course, I don't have any thoughts on that. LOLThanks.
Speaking of writing a book, Terri put that idea in my mind on last year. And I have been doing a little writing notes for my Children's Book.

When you think about it, I think ALL of us on this thread can be authors of books. We ALL have stories to tell.

Love the baby pics! I had 3 gold neck d'Uccles hatch yesterday. I'm glad I got plenty of eggs when I did, as one of those girls has gone broody. She's hogging one nest and the other girls refuse to use the other one! Geez...
I still have more d'Uccles, RIRs, and and Wyandottes in the bator that should be popping out any time. Hopefully I'll see some more cute babies when I get home.
We had our first chicken snake of the season a few days ago. It was curled up in a nest in my layer pen. My daughter walked in on it and then hubby had to drag it out. It was about a four footer. My brahma girl got over it quickly, but the wyandotte has refused to go back to a nest since! Ha! The poor girl is laying all over the yard.
I am finally feeling human again. It took me from Friday until yesterday to get over the stomach virus. I am still having a hard time getting over the pneumonia. I did get back on the steroids last night so hopefully it'll end soon. Sorry to everyone else who has any of this mess! It isn't fun to deal with.

Throwing my hat in the ring to help also -- still writing my bimonthly column in the personna of my Winnie - & on my final rewrite of my book I wrote a year ago - plan on sending it out to publishers this summer. I do NOT like snakes! I know there are "good snakes" and "bad snakes." I don't care. I do NOT like snakes. Sorry y'all, I kill all snakes, I cannot tell a "good" one from a "bad" one and I don't want to get close enough to GUESS. If I did get close enough, it would probably be one of those deadly snakes that imitate non-deadly snakes and trick me. If a snake was in my bed ("nest") I would never sleep there again either.Whew!
