Yes, they do. I'm the same as you. I get all pumped up but within a few months, I'm exhausted and I wish the hatching would stop. I tried to control the duck hatching this year but they fooled me. I was picking all of the eggs but then the girls got smart and caught on to what I was doing and started flying out of the chicken yard and hiding their eggs. That's when more hatching started.

Me three and the thing about it is I get all pumped up about it early in the year and load up the incubator(s) and start in a hatchin' but IF I'd only wait a few months I could let ALL this multitude of broodies that I have do it for me and raise them too. Then I'd cut my work load and part of the feed bill down considerably, sometimes I'm most definitely not the sharpest tool in the shed for sure,LOL

Cute duckies! Of course you can always eat them right? If you have way too many that is.

My MIL fell and has to have surgery tomorrow morning :( I am so sad for her. But at least its her left shoulder and not her right. Silver lining........

Yes, we always process all of the extra drakes. The meat is delicious.

Sorry to hear about your MIL. Wishing her a full recovery.
