I had one lay at 7:30 last night, wouldn't let anyone in the coop until she was done. May just be late today, you'll see tomorrow.
Not broody. Just a late egg. 7:30??? Wow! Mine are always done by about 3:00. But not anymore lol

Mine is new to this, 5 days in. The first three were promptly at ten the 4th was at 7:30, still waiting for todays egg.
LONG story, but we are talking all 3 rail horse fencing. The neighbor claims that HIS dog doesn't leave his property. The dog is old, and hopefully (boy do I feel bad saying that) won't be a problem too much longer. I just really watch the girls when they are outside. I also have really heavy duty wire around my coop. Only once has something attempted to "break in". Whatever it was had to have really torn up it's nose. We haven't had any other attempts. Plus, I usually leave one of my dogs out to "guard" the coop. Two of my three have really taken to the chickens and sit and watch them when they are out in the evening. The third is just a year old and still very much a puppy. I'm not sure he would eat the chickens, but he would probably "love them" to death. Bleu must be in a stall when the girls are out.You need to have a talk with that neighbor about proper care of that dog. If someone were to call animal control (please don't) he would be put down. A dog is a dog and will get out every now and then but all the time is a boundary issue.
Me too, been begging hubby for a year now lol, since your headed this way, you can stop it off and I'll tell him it just showed up! LolShe will probably be the size of a medium dog. They can be between 1 1/2 ft. - 2 ft tall and 100+ lbs. Her parents aren't huge so she'll likely fall towards the smaller end of the spectrum. I am so happy to have found potbellies as close as Deridder. Going towards Lake Charles actually. I have been wanting a pig for a long time!!!

. Think I'd have to pass on that milk...I always am setting my DVR to record PBS shows. I love the no commercial, change of pace shows. NOVA is one of the ones that I sometimes enjoy, depending on the subject. This however is VERY disturbing to me! SPIDER GOATS, REALLY?!!! YIKES!!! I had to go find it online and see if I am the only person with this reaction.
