Welsummers....hmmmmm...you're a trouble maker!!!! I love the variety of having different breeds of chickens. The personalities are wonderful. I don't have enough experience yet to know if it's the individual chicken, or the breed that's giving me the personality. More experience will tell. I'm getting ready to re-home Horn Dog Harry the rooster. He got a little attitude with me on Sunday and kicked with his not there yet spurs. As much as I have grown to like the idea of having a rooster for added protection, my eight year old likes to take the chickens out and "hang" with them. Having the rooster is making me too nervous. My eight year old likes to pick up different hens and carries them and holds them in his lap. So, Harry goes. In the short time that I've been on, I've learned that EVERYTHING at Julie's place is fertile!!!!!!

Oh GOD, PLEASE don't say the F (FERTILE) word. I was walking around yesterday and stumbled upon 5 hidden duck nests with a minimum of 10 eggs in each nest if not more. I was so mad !!!!!!! I even have 2 turkeys sitting on muscovy eggs. A turkey and duck are hiding in the goat's house. :barnie So, this means I can look forward to at least 50 more ducklings. I am NOT happy at all about this. :barnie

I had a few bananas that were getting too ripe and I knew that I wasn't going to eat them, so I made banana nut bread.

I can't find the link for the petition. Where is it? Oh, I see it now.

Done. I have signed it.

C'mon y'all let's sign this and get the word out. Post on your FB pages and send the links to your family and friends.

Thanks kuntrygirl and everyone else who signs. I would LOVE for this thing to have over 500 signatures when my sister presents it to them next week!

Good Afternoon Chicken Peeps. So, many of you don't know, but I have been waging a war against the city council of Roswell Ohio to keep an ordinance from banning all livestock (including chickens) from the city. My sister's family lives just within city limits and my niece (who wants to be a chicken lady like Aunt RahRah) has a small flock of 4 Production Reds and 2 ducks she purchased from Tractor Supply this spring.

I made a petition on Change.org, which can be seen here...https://www.change.org/petitions/roswell-ohio-city-council-stop-the-new-ordinance-banning-chickens-2 a couple weeks ago. This morning, the local paper did a FRONT page story about this...see the lead story.

Link to text for the story.....http://www.timesreporter.com/topsto...s-plan-to-ban-all-farm-animals-in-the-village

The next council meeting is Tuesday next week. I am sending a copy of the signed petition as well as a legal dossier provided by SalemChickens.com and changed to use in Ohio.

So, if you guys would please sign the petition at the link above, I would really appreciate it. We currently have 377 signatures, but I would like to send it with as many as possible. The fact that you are out of state is irrelevant: It is simply to apply pressure from bad publicity, which has already started to work!

Thanks in advance everyone!
Signed!!! Good luck!!!
