So he can't sell his pickles? I guess I just dont get why we need government time and energy focused on someone selling pickles. He isn't forcing anyone to buy them and they obviously would know he made them. .. or did I not understand this video correctly?

My understanding is they’re still fighting over it, but the ruling is in response to a man who had gotten in trouble for giving away homemade pickles (IIRC the local news said he’d accepted money a grand total of once). The Manchester Health Department sent him a cease-and-desist because he didn’t have a license.

I just think it's ridiculous. The poor guy is just wanting to give his pickles away. I can pickles and give them away also. Good grief, should I expect a knock on my door?

Places here won't take homemade. And if you sell them, you have to be licensed and labeled and registered and traceable. And you have to state all allergens, and that it is made/packaged in a non-inspected kitchen.
BUT get this, I go to actual shops - like a big named meat market, and they're selling products they make and there are NO ingredient labels and no dates. WTF, I have to do it, why don't they?
Or I go to farmers markets and they're selling things they made, and no labels, no dates, no ingredients. So I guess it's only if you get CAUGHT or reported.

Maybe I'm overreacting, but I think if I want to buy your pickles then I take the risk knowing you made them at home. If the risk, in my opinion is to high, then I don't buy them. Isn't that common sense? I just don't get why you have to, but some places don't either.

The government should pay more attention to quality control of the things they were already supposed to be inspecting. Since 2020 specifically food quality, packaging and recalls are literally insane. How did all this stuff get through their inspections in the first place?!

What really got me was the recall on organic strawberries. How do organic strawberries need to be recalled. Oh yeah someone touched them without washing their hands after using the bathroom.
