I don't beat my children, but when they do something that really endangers them, I'm a firm believer in a spanking. Boy, that's almost a dirty word these days.
That being said, I can't even remember the last time my 12 year old got a swat. It's literally been well over a year. They LEARN...kids are smart. My kids judge the severity of a situation by my tone. I also admit to raising my voice from time to time...ok maybe a yell here and there.
But there are some situations that call for spankings. Nothings irritates me more than seeing a child put themselves in a dangerous situation, and the parent is saying, "Now honey,
we don't want to hurtsy ourselves, so please
don't do that" OH PLEASE!!!!! Drives me crazier (you notice I admit...crazy...once you are married and have kids, you qualify as crazy).
We used to get flu shots, then they put the H1N1 in, and we no longer get them. That is the one thing my pediatrician and I go round and round on. It's the one thing she disagrees with me on. I respect her opinion, but not gonna happen!
