"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

OUCH!!! Where are you again? Central Louisiana? That looks really painful. Have you tried ichthammol drawing salve. It's a favorite at our house. I swear it cures everything. Draws the yuck out. My grandma used it and we've always used it. I buy it in bulk now from a horse supply. I also get a tube occasionally from drug store. It lasts forever! I know I've seen some kind of giant wasp around here. Haven't noticed it's markings, because I'm usually headed in the other direction at a run!!!

Look up these three hornets and wasps and see if one looks similar:
Japanese Giant Hornet
Asian Giant Hornet
Cicada Killer Wasp
Not any of those. I am having trouble finding it as the nest looks like a potter wasp nest with the ceramic jug or pot look. The wasp itself is just shy of 3", has the body of a paper wasp, and solid black even the wings.

Yea, I was kind happy as well. That's a few bags of chicken feed. More than I had before. So, I'm ok with it.

Oh don't get me started with Obama Care. That is ridiculous. I am TOTALLY AGAINST Obama care. That is the STUPIDEST (is that a word?) idea that I have EVER heard if. I am so upset about that Obama care, I would bite a nail and crunch it up to make sand. A lot of small companies will close down and people will be out of a job because of the Obama Care. I wonder if he thought about that. Then that will affect the unemployment rate. How can you MAKE someone get insurance? Seriously !!!!!!!!!! :smack

Don't get me started with that. :duc

Didn't mean for you to get the matches!

I was beginning to worry! I...wait...we have gotten 12 soft shells since last month - that's when they started laying.

So, naturally I came here for answers.

That way, the guy at the ag store doesn't look at me like I'm an idiot...LOL..Now that I think about it - he does that a lot.

Fermented food or yogurt might help her digest the calcium better.

I really think Obama hates America and is trying to bankrupt this country! His Mother was a communist, from Russia and his father was a bigamist from the Kenya, the poorest country on earth, so, in my opinion, he is trying to destroy America! He was called "the savior" when he got elected the first time, more like the Anti-Christ, if you ask me. He has done everything he can to take away our rights and freedoms and change our Constitution! I just hope we can get through the next 3 years. He is not the Anti Christ, but he differently is a type thereof! Has anyone else noticed he doesn't wear even his wedding ring during Ronnadom ? I know I didn't spell that word right.

They do that a lot. Wait until you do know and they try to sell you on something they have no real clue on. The shoe will be on the other foot then. Just to be for-warned: Most TSC stores know little to nothing about chickens, just because they sell it doesn't mean they have a clue. The best advice I ever got from there came from customers in the same isle while the employee stood there with a blank expression on his face.

I just put my coop together myself i would like to get a couple more hens myself but I'm haveing a hard time finding any in west Monroe

Soft shelled eggs are common, in some chickens when they first start laying, but this 2 eggs in one day is news to me. I had a neighbor, who got softshells from her RIRs very often and they were a couple years old. I tried to play a trick on her once and put 4 extra eggs into her hens' nest after she had gathered 2 from her 3 hens, but she caught me on it, cause my Orpington eggs were darker!
I also get a softshell or two from the turkeys, but now often, maybe 3 a year from 15 hens.
