"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

Does anyone have milk goats?

No, but I think you do or are probably thinking about it ! With the price of milk going up, I thought about a milk cow, but when I found out they give several gallons of milk a day and had to be milked twice a day, I thought again! You already know I raise most all the meat we eat, already, but cows are a bit too much for me to handle, at my age! I'm just old as dirt and not getting any younger.

Yea, I am thinking about it and have been for quite some time. I would really like some. I would have that same problem. I would only need a little bit of goat milk for my personal consumption. I wonder if you can freeze raw goat milk.

Oh goodie, we are under a burn ban now!  Woo-Hoo!  I guess I should have burned that stump in the back last weekend.

What happened? Why the burn ban? Too dry in your area?

I love that I can burn things in the country. Too bad that I have to authorization and supervision to start fires from my psychiatrist. You know I was involved in that "fire thing" a while back.

Uh, what's a shelby?

A very rare brand of car. My dream one sold for 2.5 million in January. The cheapest you can get one is $250,000. for a reproduction of the late 60's models. The only reason I noticed was because the person was in line in front of me and when we left and I was gwaking at the car. It's not something you would think to see often much less at a walmart with the driver spending stamps. I was traveling threw Texas at the time and it is only the second time in my life I had seen one in person. It had the standard blue tranny and even if it was a really good reproduction it still costs a pretty penny.

OMG !!!!!!!!

I just bought 8 pork shoulder roasts for $0.88/lb at Brookshire Brothers. They had a limit of 2 so my cheap butt went threw the line 4 times. Ran out of cashiers to go to and they really frown on that practice but it put cheap meat on my table.

I do that! Lol! And sometimes my kids "help" ;) I can honestly say I learned it from my Mom when we had hard times as a kid when my Dad was laid off.

I thought that I was the only one that did that too. :lau

That reminds me of the time that a guy who stopped by my house a couple years ago selling frozen meat. I was outside and he pulled up in his truck. He got out and started talking to me about how he was in the neighborhood and his supervisor had just called him and told him that he could sell the frozen meats in his truck for little of nothing. And that I was the first person who had been so lucky to be offered this deal and he would love to sell me everything in his truck for a very low price. His voice had so much enthusiasm and I really hated to bust his bubble but I had to. So this is how the conversation went after that.

ME - "Sir, I don't even buy meat from the grocery store."
HIM - "What do you man you don't buy meat. You mean you don't eat meat. You're a vegetarian."
ME- "No, I'm not a vegetarian. I eat plenty of meat. I eat chicken, duck, rabbit and sheep."
HIM - "Well how can you eat meat and not be a vegetarian and NOT buy meat."
ME- "Sir look to your left."

So as he looks to his left and sees about 300 animals (chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys, ducks, etc), I could see the look of embarrassment that covered his face and he was so ashamed.

HIM- "Sorry to bother you ma'am".
Me = "No problem sir."

That was priceless.

It has always creeped me out that people drive door to door selling meat. Not sure why, but never even considered buying them.

Morning, y'all. Had enough coffee yet?

Yeah, it's pretty dry here. If we don't get rain soon, I think we will have a canyon in my back yard! Hey, maybe I can charge admission for it. Hmmm.

Apparently the ban covers Rapides and Grant. Possibly Avoyelles too. So...until further notice...No smore's for me

Hahahaha love it.
At least he got it and it wasn't a drawn out ordeal about home grown meat! Lol
