That's what her maid is for!
:th    They seem like nice people...I just wouldn't want something that big...I don't have a maid (unless I put a uniform on).    Too old for that!

We've done a lot of outdoor kitchens that have fireplaces. Doesn't make since to me. Not like they get used very much with our heat. But we 're happy to charge them.

I have one in the chicken area that came with the house. Years ago the pigs tore it up and we knocked all but 3' off the top. Now it is used as a burn pile spot, grill, and roosting area for the chickens during the day. I don't know about ever getting new as they do seem useless here but the remains of one can be useful.

I use my indoor fireplace in the winter,I have a lot of free oak from hurricanes. I go collect it when the Parrish trims the power lines. So free fuel. I bought a grill that slides in the fireplace and I have cast iron Dutch ovens. So I'm able to heat and cook for free three months out of the year if I'm lucky.

The one inside is never to be used in my house. It has been unused for so long that I can't get the glass open. I know it hasn't been cleaned or opened for at least 30 years, as my family owned it before me. Sometimes you can hear a bird in there in spring. Scary to think what would happen if someone used it before cleaning or repairing the bricks.

If I could afford a maid she would run away at the sight of the house. It's not messy, it just looks about as run down as one of those old haunted houses in the movies. Heck, as it is my exterminator threatens to bring matches to "help" me rebuild rather than have me move out of his area.

I tried to hire a housekeeper. She made her initial visit to inspect the house and give me a quote. When it was time for her to come back to work, she came over and then sent me a text telling me that she decided that she couldn't clean for me. I was like, "HUH"? :idunno Good help is hard to find. :smack

I had a few nature made sky lights/waterfalls gifted to me from Rita. I fixed all but one in the main roof (2nd floor) so I asked a few friends to help me fix it last year. Since the storm I have had an indoor gutter system set up with a cooler and a hose draining outside because no one lives up there. Well, I got everything together for a complete roof replace (even precut short shingles for one side) and when they got up there they refused to help. They said they could fit threw the hole and wanted no part of it. I was going to rip off everything even the ply wood and replace, what's a little 4' hole compared to that? It is still not fixed because I can't do it alone and apparently waterfalls and skylights are not good selling points unless they were built like that.

When I use my indoor fireplace, I put down a giant sheet of aluminum foil. That way, the next morning I fold it up and throw it out. No mess!

Did you know that Blue Kote doesn't wash off with soap and water??!!?? I wish I knew that BEFORE I tried to put it on Stinker. This would be the ONE time she was a pill!!! I'm not sure which one of us has more on -- her or me?

She is now a black and gold AND purple (not blue) polish.
