I had a few nature made sky lights/waterfalls gifted to me from Rita. I fixed all but one in the main roof (2nd floor) so I asked a few friends to help me fix it last year. Since the storm I have had an indoor gutter system set up with a cooler and a hose draining outside because no one lives up there. Well, I got everything together for a complete roof replace (even precut short shingles for one side) and when they got up there they refused to help. They said they could fit threw the hole and wanted no part of it. I was going to rip off everything even the ply wood and replace, what's a little 4' hole compared to that? It is still not fixed because I can't do it alone and apparently waterfalls and skylights are not good selling points unless they were built like that.

There's a great roofing company called V & V Roofing out of Gonzales/ Baton Rouge area. We have used them for years. I'm not sure how far they travel, but maybe they could suggest someone.

Did you know that Blue Kote doesn't wash off with soap and water??!!?? I wish I knew that BEFORE I tried to put it on Stinker. This would be the ONE time she was a pill!!! I'm not sure which one of us has more on -- her or me?

She is now a black and gold AND purple (not blue) polish.

Yup... and my purple footed sultan pullet does to.

When I use my indoor fireplace, I put down a giant sheet of aluminum foil.  That way, the next morning I fold it up and throw it out.  No mess!

If its built right with a ash dump no mess. You sweep all ash in trap door in floor of fire place. Then after a few fires open ash dump trap door on the outside back of fireplace dump ashes in bucket add some to compost and garden toss the rest in woods.

What are they going to do with 5? Also, do they understand they need to be cleaned on a regular biases? Too much work too often for something pretty.

Do they realize they live in South Louisiana where it's a cold winter if we can use the fireplace a few times??

A lot of the ones we do, are either on an inside wall, or are "see through". I like the idea of an ash dump. Ventless fireplaces are another type we are seeing a lot, but since I'm on propane, I'm not a fan of those (the smell they add to the propane gives me a headache).

I swear the winter is by far the hottest time of year at my in-laws house. The second it might even be near winter my FIL cranks up his fireplace and cooks the place out. Any excuse to turn that thing on and it will be 111 in that living room. I am not exaggerating unfortunately. Even on a nice tempered day if it might get a tad chilly that night, he'll start a raging fire at noon. He goes through so much wood. I personally love the cold.

Me? Leader? Oh, I beg to differ. I am NO example for anyone. My weakness are fires, mixing wines, smarty pants, i don't hold my tongue (smart mouth), wreckless, borderline hoarder when I find too many sales or free stuff and too much more to mention. I hope no one follows along in my footsteps. I'm a recipe for disaster.

You have a great insurance if they offer free gyms. Ours ofrers $25.00 monthly cost and free enrollment. I wish ours offered free. Let me know how the gentle yoga was.

Glad I didn't try "rough" yoga, the gentle yoga was challenge enough. I'm always hauling rocks and equipment and feed bags etc so I was surprised that I am weak in some areas. I'll go back. I think it will improve flexibility. Going to try Zumba too.

opps, did we forget to tell you that you needed to cross the rail road tracks before counting the mileage? Orange soap (mechanics) or baking soda and sugar soap mix will help but blue kote does stain.
