"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

Thanks.

There is a cute little squirrel that comes to visit every day and I love squirrel stew but I'll give him a pass. I won't shoot him. He better be glad that my grape wine is almost ready or else. :gig

That cute squirrel wouldn't make it over here. Buck my male caught one last week. I went out later to pick up any left over pieces. Their wasn't any he ate everything even the tail. Pam

That must have been some good eating if he ate the tail too. LOL :lau

Does anyone have bats? I have really been thinking about getting a bat house so that I can attrack bats to my yard. Don't judge me. :p

Just think about it............ a glass of wine...........fire pit burning.................bat watching............. and gun by side for opossum shooting. That could work right? It doesn't take much to please me at all. :lau

Hey guys, relatively new to BYC and raising chickens. We have 4 Easters, 4 Australorps, 2 Buff Orps, & 2 Production Reds. Got them from Thibodeaux's in Abbeville back in April. They are all doing great and we love having them. 3 have started laying eggs (2 light green and one olive colored). I would like to get a couple hens that lay white eggs. I don't want to raise any chicks right now. Does anyone know where I might be able to buy a couple hens that are laying age or at least a few months old? I live in Indian Bayou, west of Maurice. Thanks for the help. Love this site.

I've had bats. Unwanted ones. I put up a bat house but they decided they liked my house better. You can watch them already I would think. I see them every night around here.

If you do put up a bat house make sure you don't have a opening bigger or the size of a quarter. If you do fill it we used foam spray insulation to fill ours.
I kept telling Ron something was living in the roof. He didn't believe me. After two weeks I guess the numbers tripled I took him out side and showed him the poop evidence he could no longer deny it. That night we went out at dusk an watched . It was like the monkeys in wizard of oz. The bats were dropping from the soffit and circling the house before leaving for the night to catch mosquitoes. We Didn't want to kill them for that reason. Its another long story how we caught them an relocated them. Pam

:welcome

Glad that you found us. Not sure where you can find hens that lay white eggs. Maybe someone on this thread will have some that you can buy.

Interesting story.

So, they can fit in an opening the size of a quarter? WOW !!! Tha'ts small. And why till it with foam spray insulation? The numbers tripled? I think I need to read up on bats before I vetnure off into luring some my way.

Can't wait to hear how you relocated them.

We've seen them in the tall trees down at the bayou. I don't want them any closer to the house than that!
