I don't know but Bullet (her) and Casanova (rooster) seem to think so. I will have to remove them tomorrow if they don't hatch. They don't stink and this morning one of the eggs was moving quite a bit. I brought Casanova in to see the chicks and he decided to sit on the eggs until Bullet came over to sit on them. Then they traded roles again and he taught them a few things while she pulled the eggs under her. Casanova is upset with me right now because I have a piece of cardboard covering half of the box and he wanted to roost there for the night. I made him go out to the coop with the other girls.

Aw! That is so sweet! Is that normal for him to be so maternal?!

This is my first broody with him, but when my laying flock were chicks he was like that with them. He was, however, the only adult bird then. He gave up on the broilers (57 of them) after they refused to listen and roam out of the gate for literal greener grass. When they finally decided to try the other yard with him they were bigger than him and picked the chicken yard clean of grass. He is very big on not letting one area get picked clean and roams with his flock to different feeding grounds everyday.

I snapped this picture earlier this evening at the store. I hope there aren't any riots

People get crazy when you try to take stuff like this away.

Never thought I would see the day!

Now people know that it is not a 100% guarantee. Next time they are able to go shopping I hope they reconsider their food options and get something that will feed and last. I am sick of seeing soda, chips, cakes, and icecream in the same baskets with fs month after month. They need things like rice, meat, and veggies.

I did find an explanation for why EBT is down.

Talk about bad timing. They are all going to blame the Prez even if it has nothing to do with this government shutdown.

Yes, it is bad timing. Yes, they will blame him even though this one is not his fault. They were checking their backup system and updating their normal one. Well, their backup didn't work. Better to learn now than find out during a crisis. People are upset because they don't properly budget their food spending and run out before the next FS come in. This causes them to rush to the store as soon as the card is loaded. Cooking on a budget may not taste as good as a T-bone or chips and icecream but it allows you to at least have something in your pantry. I am glad it happened and hope that at least some will rethink how they manage their pantry. Heck, a 20lb bag of rice for $5-10 (depending on where you buy it) in the back of the pantry and a few cans of beans would go a long way if they don't have the ability to go shopping right away. Also, have you noticed that the best sales go out right after most FS are run dry for the month. A little careful planning would go a long way for them.
