"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

Have any of you ever tried Vet Rx on your flocks? I picked up a rooster today & he has bubble foot I was told to use it on his feet, I picked up a bottle of it. Say's it good for colds, roup, scaly legs & eye worms. Now the problem I have is the paper work was not in the box with directions so I not sure how to mix it. Web search! I still have 3 chicks alive 3 died I think they or having a hard time breaking out the shells I found all 3 still stuck to the shell. Anyone ever had shell to hard for the chics?
I think that indicates humidity issues. I had it happen once w/my old styrofoam bator.

Good morning La-yers! Hope everybody had a good weekend! It went by too fast. I just realized the time changes next weekend. I won’t like it in the evenings but it’ll be nice to have that extra hour in the mornings!

Moved my 3 babies to the grow-out pen yesterday but one popped through the fence like melted butter, so I had to put them back in the brooder for another week or two. They are feathered out & looking good.

Love the pics of the cute babies – makes me want to hatch some more! But I’ll restrain myself for now.

no I have 2 boys (kids) 6 girls (chickens)

Ah, OK! Gotchya.

What kind of chickens do you have?

We have seven fluffy butts this morning and 2 more trying to break out. 2 eggs I see no pip and don't hear anything and 1 that quit coming out(it just didn't look right). We did get the remaining eggs into an incubator situation inside because they were getting to cool with mommy taking care of the hatched older ones. Once they got nice and warm inside they are much livelier! Our little dachshund mix doggie its being a great chick sitter staying right bedside them. He thinks he is a mommy to any baby anything. One its almost fluffy enough to go our with Mom though so he might get some rest with less cheeping, lol. Its been such a nice morning having the kids be home to observe the cuteness!

Kuntrygirl, where are you? We need you!

Cracked Nut, how is your flock doing?
Everyone is getting corid in their water. I didn't hear any sneezing this morning. I think I'm just a nervous wreck right now...watching everyone and looking for signs of illness. We held "services" yesterday for Stubbie Nubbie. Matthew (8) asked how many more of his chickens were going to die.

It was not a fun day.

I am so sorry this happened.

As a mom, I understand how much it hurts to see your kids hurt. I know you can't ever truly replace something you care about, but when my BBS polish pen gets back to laying, I'd happily hatch a few chicks for him.

Only give this for about 3 days if you find a sick one separate it and treat it longer/more with a more stout dosage or other. Don't mix meds either esp if you don't know what the ailment is. FYI
