"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

Everyone is getting corid in their water. I didn't hear any sneezing this morning. I think I'm just a nervous wreck right now...watching everyone and looking for signs of illness. We held "services" yesterday for Stubbie Nubbie. Matthew (8) asked how many more of his chickens were going to die.

It was not a fun day.
So sorry! Hug your son & tell him we are sad, too.

Poor boy! :( Hopefully time will heal his little heart.

At least 5 of my legbar eggs are developing this time, so I have a good chance of getting some of these babies this time! :yesss:

:fl  Not 5 roosters... not 5 roosters......not five roosters :fl

I don't even want to think about the "R" word since these 7(almost 9) peeps are so stinking cute. If there are too many of the male persuasion we may be having black chicken soup!!

I am so sorry this happened.

As a mom, I understand how much it hurts to see your kids hurt. I know you can't ever truly replace something you care about, but when my BBS polish pen gets back to laying, I'd happily hatch a few chicks for him.
That's a very kind offer. Thank You. I know she was a chicken, but she was very sweet with him. He always had her tucked under his arm or in his lap. I had to draw the line at him riding his bike with her (even thought she didn't seem to mind).

Only give this for about 3 days if you find a sick one separate it and treat it longer/more with a more stout dosage or other. Don't mix meds either esp if you don't know what the ailment is. FYI

Jeff
I was told to give 1 tsp of Corid (water soluble) per 1 gallon of water. Does this sound correct? As of now, I haven't seen any other signs of illness, but I know how quickly that can change. Will 3 days be enough if it's coccidiosis? Someone in the emergencies thread said to give it for 5-7 days, and although I greatly appreciated the advice (I was desperate), I don't know their "skill level" like I do you guys. What is your advice?
How long before we can start eating the eggs again?

Thanks for your help,
Laurie
