"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

Hubby ran his first half marathon this morning at Indian Creek. He made it and has been "recovering" with some meds, ice and a nap, lol. We are all proud of him! That is something I could never do.

That is GREAT!!!!!!! Congrats to him!!!!!!!!!!!! :bow :thumbsup

That is a GREAT accomplishment! Many people will never be able to say that they ran a marathon. You all should be VERY proud of him.

Running a marathon is on my bucket list. I also want to do a triathlon (swimming, cycling and running) but I will have to train at least a year before I can do that. :/

And yes YOU could do it if you really really really wanted to.

Some man just stopped by my place & wanted me to give him a few chickens REALLY some people just don't have a clue what chicken cost & the love I have for mine. And don't worry before he left I introduced him to Turk my turkey who has taken it up on himself to be a watch turkey. And does a real good job scaring off people that don't belong here. To top it off made me miss the Saints kick off

:yuckyuck :lau :lau :lau :lau Seriously???????????????????????? He wanted you to GIVE him a few chickens :lau :lau On a serious note, be careful because he may be back to help himself to your chickens when you're not there. Please post a pic of Turk your turkey. I want to see that enforcer.

Morning La-yers! Taking a break from payroll here. I just had some fresh pineapple and it was so good! We didn’t make it to Holloway’s nursery – it was raining & really nasty Sat so Mom opted to stay home – she doesn’t want to risk slipping & falling & that’s wise at her age. We don’t need any broken hips to deal with. Maybe this weekend will be nice & we can get out there. My eggs are rocking away in the bator – I set 18 total. 12 of the Mohawk RIRs, 3 from my Ameracaunas which hopefully will give me some olive-eggers, and 3 which may be pure Marans or may be Marans-Wellie crosses but either way they’ll go into the laying flock if hens or gumbo pot if roos.

That’s great about the marathon. If you ever see me running, you’d better start running, too, because somebody will be chasing me.

Whoa.

He didn't offer to buy?

There's a kid on CL that calls every tome I post a bird asking if he can have a few :/

NO he said He moved from Texas and had to leave all he chickens there. So I should give him a few to get him started again. Been having a bunch of robberies in this area, praying he was scooping my place out. My dogs met him at the gate before me as they always do.

That doesn't sound right. Anyone that has ever owned chickens knows what they cost and wouldn't ask for ones that you put your time and effort into for free. Chicks are cheap and he can go buy some of them but you spend everyday with the girls and there is more there than money can buy. From a robbing standpoint, most robbers are (thankfully) stupid and look for electronics, farm things cost more. I hope he got scared off by your animals. I would let the most aggressive ones roam as much of the yard as possible to scare off future attempts.

I can with COMPLETE honesty say that I DON'T...but will cheer wildly for you and help celebrate afterward...with food and drink!

I'm with you about the marathon! I have the greatest of respect for those that run. However, I'm with you on the running part...usually when I'm running, I'm being chased by an obnoxious foal, who wants to play!

Good luck to all on their eggs.
