My girls have been doing the same thing lately! The only problem is that they have picked the horse stalls to do it in! I don't mind when I put down fresh shavings, however, they seem to prefer the slightly older, less "nice" ones!Chickens know just how to give you a heart attack. I came around the corner after collecting eggs to find what looked like my roo and one of my hens missing their heads.

This is a little too close to get to them before someone pops their head up. This is not any of their normal dust bath spots, it is a whole that my son dug yesterday "for the chickens" after we cleaned up the leaves. Not part of their yard. Touched the roo and all of them popped their heads like why are you bothering me?
That's kind of icky, but if I really needed to know...... And I wonder if meds would throw it off. Or even like taking vitamin C. Maybe not.
