Just found this group of LA-yers, so I figured I would jump in. I have had chickens for 2 years now and really enjoy them. I have BR, a welsummer, RIR, Americauna, Wyandottes, and a bantam who is broody, actually setting now. Have a gorgeous Black Australorp roo too. I am near Broussard, LA, and would like to network with other chicken folks in the Lafayette/New Iberia/Broussard/Youngsville area. I'd be glad to share some eggs or trade some birds when my flock grows too big. Anybody in south central LA out there?
TGIF ya’ll! I’m impatiently waiting for 12 noon to get here so I can start my weekend! My NYC friend is on her way – I know we won’t get much sleep this weekend but we sure will have lots of fun catching up!
Julie you ought to drop by for lunch tomorrow – muffalletas and spinach-artichoke dip!
I got a tazer for my birthday heh heh heh...nobody wants to let me test it....doh....so excited now doin rounds, I almost am hoping a boogeyman jumps outta the shadows lol
My splash wheatan pullet squats for me now! No eggs still Ug. But darn it if her comb isn't red, she plays in the nest boxes and now squats! Lay me a blue egg already!
I have a taser, but it doesn't look like that! Yours look like a flashlight to me..

(seramas - but you got close nuff.
)The last batch are about 10 weeks now. There are a few extra boys I need to sale one day - not really rushed, but I will be keeping all of the pullets, him:

I don't have pictures of a lot of the girls right now. I only let these guys out of the brooder for pics. mostly of the roosters for someone. I can't really let them out yet for fear of them walking right through the fence, or a chick that size getting my cats attention. They never bother my grown birds, but they aren't so tempting at this.
The cockerel featured in these two pics. I am going to sell but not the girls.
