Well in defense of Craig's list that's why I have not been on BYC since Oct. I have went to 3 different locations loaded around 300 cinder blocks I have also bought 9 pollens, gates and other items for my barn. I even found my barn on Craigs List. I always check the seller out & never go to the pick up place alone. One can find some good deals on the site. But there is all ways the SCAMMERS

I'm the same way with Craigslist. I"m very careful.

I always check out phone numbers online to make sure it's a real person. When the website gives me the person's name, I find them on Facebook. 99% of the time, they have a FB account with a pic. I always tell someone where I"m going. I always leave a note at home or at work detailing my pickup indication the location place and time, person' name, phone number, description of the person's vehicle (I always ask for that), a copy of the craigslist ad, facebook account and email. If the conversation that I have with the person makes me uneasy, I don't go. I always meet up at a post office or gas station. I never go to the person's house if I am alone. I will always bring a male with me if the pickup is at the person's house. I always bring my gun, taser and hunting knife. I try to be as prepared as possible.

The only problems that I have had with Craigslist is CRA-CRA that bought my mix chicks and advertised them on CL as pure breed and this other LOSER in my area that bought a pair of my turkeys and tried to re-sell them on CL for a higher price. He knows who he is and I hope that he is reading this post. Oh, and I can't forget about this other DONKEY that bought a lot of roosters from me and told me he was going to process them for the freezer for his family and he tried to re-sell them for more than he paid them. The surprise was on him because he wasn't able to re-sell them. :lau

Howdy and
welcome-byc.gif
and to the La-yers thread

I know exactly the vicinity you hail from. I'm just up the road a piece from you on the outskirts of the big metropolis of Hornbeck,LOL

Be prepared for a scene if you hang around the Layers thread and henhouse(hen party), they let me and a few other ol' roosters come around ever so often (sometimes too often)
