Anyone in Vernon know where to fill propane? The last person to stay in the travel trailer forgot to tell me they ran out both tanks and my spare for the grill. TSC in DeRidder was out now they say "it's broken", Tried 3 places between Rosepine and and Entrance Road and they have all closed. At a loss unless I go back down to Lake Charles.

Hopefully there won't be a next time but if there is...take scotch tape stick to stung area pull out any stingers then put on emu oil. Yes it works for catapillers too. I know this one from experance. Pam

I did that. What happened - it was late at night & I was sitting on our patio playing w/the dogs & one of them was in my lap, so when the thing stung, I couldn't get up quickly so got the full dose of venom. I did the scotch tape thing & the credit card thing but there was just too much venom - so, hence the scar -- and a very healthy respect for those things on my part! They are one thing that when I see them marching down the side of the oak tree, I get the heavy duty Home Defense spray & saturate them with that. It's a fenced in yard so don't have to worry about the chickens getting them - not they would anyway. but I don't even try to go "natural" w/those. We don't have as many as we used to, so hopefully we've made a dent in their population.

Sorry your sting was so bad. I bet you didn't put emu oil on it. you should get a small bottle to have on hand. I was told about it by the beekeeper that taught me. After useing it for bee stings I started useing it for any kind of sting and it's worked. Last summer I had company over to go swimming a young boy stepped on one he started crying it hurt so bad. I ran an got the emu oil.It quit stinging and he stopped crying. It has anti inflammatory properties.I was a skeptic now i'm a convert. Pam
