I have insulated with dry leaves (huge amount lol) covered gaps on coops, blocked doors (they're wire/pvc and wire n wood doors so we put a board to block the wind.
Should I put my layers (3) in with the meaties? As far as size they're about the same but the meaties are heavier but on the ground and my layers roost up high. The hoop coop holds heat in the roof better than the layer coop. And the meaties produce a lot of heat helping that...will it be so cold my ameraucanas might not make it?!
I thought for a moment to do that (put them in with the meaties) but didn't figuring I never worried before. Now, I'm scared for my Blue layers! Doh! I've made errors with cold tolerance before
