"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

That's cool that he likes your soap :)  Just don't forget when selling soap that there are the USDA labeling laws to contend with.  There is 1. Soap (with which you can make no claims whatsoever real or implied that the soap does anything but "clean")  2. Soap that is a cosmetic (where there are mild claims) and 3. Soap that is a drug (makes stronger claims that throws it into the drug category and thereby throws it under the FDA jurisdiction and is subject to their laws.)

I don't have any of my links on this computer I had to move to using a different one because old one has a battery issue.  But there is absolutely everything that you need to know in the forums on www.soapmakingforum.com  as well as a gaggle of super knowledgeable people that have been at it for years (some of them just make soap for fun though, so look to see like their post #s and if they have a soaping business or if they are a moderator).  And I have rarely ran across anyone that wasn't nice to talk to over there.  Lots of soap pics too:)   And who doesn't want to look at more pictures of soap?  (ok, don't answer that!  lol)

Welcome to the addiction:oops:     I am even happy to make a smelly soap........... I made the stinkiest soap today that actually made me gag when I cut it.:sick   But it is perfection.  (HP Neem for the dog)  I hope the dog doesn't smell like that after his bath when I try it in a few weeks!

eta: There is also a book that has a complete description of the labeling specs.  I will see if I can find the title.

Let me know if you get a formula going for dogs with SUPER sensitive skin and doesn't make them smell bad lol. They sleep with me.

Morning La-yers & welcome Lisa! TGIF!!!!!

It’s FRIDAY, it’s PAYDAY and it’s WARMER!

All reasons to celebrate – and we did. On Friday paydays I wear my purple sneakers with the orange laces and two of us do the “happy dance” it’s become a tradition since I started working here.

That's why I'm asking lots of questions!! I have been doing my research and it seems as though true Ameraucana breeders are few and far between. I had high hopes that maybe there was one here in Louisiana.

Now don't laugh. Also, "hatchery birds" are NOT show quality birds. That being said, I got mine from www.mypetchicken.com They sell "true" Ameraucana. You pay around $20.00 per bird, which is HIGH for hatchery, and a ton for shipping. I have been very happy with my girls. It allowed me to get a big variety of breeds. It was a good way for me to start. As I add birds, I will probably purchase from BYCers locally.

I wanted to buy from her but I can't get 15 chicks haha!!

She is a "bad example of a splash wheatan ameraucana " OR "a bad example color wise of a blue wheatan" (her "blue" is actually white where blue is supposed to be the experts over on the AM thread told me .) Lol I know Her dad was a wheatan ameraucana, her mom is a blue wheatan ameraucana both from a respected breeder - I own her mom too now lol my husband went back to the breeder and bought her mama for me lol because I didn't wanna wait for blue eggs. Funny is her mama wasn't laying either. Now they both are on FF and happy healthy almost daily layers. They lay the prettiest eggs, I love them.

When did they start laying. Mine will be 9 months old on January 20. No eggs from either one.

She is. She's breeding molted Orps now I think tho.

My hubby went back for the hen my chicks came from when she was selling.

If I find any I'll let you know. I know a lot of people who have EEs. But not so many in state with pure AMs. I'm sure they're here tho :) took me a year to find her with wheatans and she came recommended from a member on BYC.
thanks for keeping an eye out for me! :)

Very shortly, the quatities should REALLY drop. You put in your zipcode and they tell you the quantity. Usually its around 4 birds. I ordered "extra" not expecting all but one to make it, plus, they send a couple of extras (that were actually FEMALES)!

I would ask Chris Herzog bec he ran the LSU chicken show so he knows about sources for different breeds. Also Catdaddy on here knows a lot about pure breeds. He might be able to make you a couple.
