"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

Ok, only admitting this because I'm CrackedNut...buttttttt.....
I'm just now getting my Christmas tree down.

It's artificial, so it's not a brown bush...
Another admission, it's probably only happening because Prim and her granddaughter are supposed to come out to the house tomorrow.

Nothing like a little motivation....

There is a town called Park City, UT that keeps the Christmas stuff up all year. It's about 20 min north of Salt Lake on a mountain and is really a rich area, but the skiing is good there. That is also the only place I have ever seen a 7-11 without a gas pump. It's really pretty to drive threw at night.

So, without even trying, buggles and I are "living it like the rich" and didn't even know it! Wow...Maybe I should take the tree back out. LOL.. I have heard of Park City before, but have never been. I'm not a big skier, it's really not pretty! I prefer snow tubing and ice skating.
A couple of summers ago, we shipped some horses and ended up in Jackson Hole, WY for a few hours. It was pretty to drive through, but WAY too much shopping and people for me.

WaMu sent me up there for 6 weeks to train a group and they paid for a local guide. He would take us up there every night to look around and the views were breathtaking. I would love to spend some time in WY. I have driven threw it several times on trips but never stopped for more then gas.

That sounds REALLY neat! To have 6 weeks to explore an area would be wonderful!!

I've mentioned our 5000 mile, 2week trip moving horses before. That was one of the best trips of my life! My husband, the boys, and myself. It was REALLY hard work, but we got to see so much. We drove up to Yellowstone by way of Texas, and drove home through Kansas. We were in Aurora, Colorado the night of the movie theater shooting, one exit down. We stopped and visited one of the most haunted old prisons in Lander, WY. We left the weanlings in Lander, WY for 5 days while we drove to Yellowstone, then went back and picked them up. We then drove to Cheyenne to meet and transfer horses. We got to see the Cheyenne rodeo while we were there. My husband was in hog heaven. He used to steer wrestle when he was younger, before cutting horses. We had a fully loaded trailer and didn't want to take the chance coming back through Colorado. Plus, I wanted to see more country!

OK we laid Peetey to rest this morning (he's been in the freezer since he passed) & got a new bird at PetSmart -- a sky blue bird, a young male, you can tell from his markings he is less than six months old but he's never been handled so wild as a March hare (where did THAT saying come from? anyway) his name is PeeII (Peetey two in roman numerals) according to Jim. Whom I think picked him out 2 days ago but won't admit it. (so we still have Peetey Peetey -Para-keetey, just as we have for years).

anyway he's settling in nicely & I'll get pics tomorrow to post -- I don't want to upset him any more than he has been already today. He is so small compared to our other Peetey. But he'll grow. And he will tame down. I've done this before & know how to do it. A new challenge!

:hugs I'm glad you were able to give Peety a proper send off.
So excited for your new addition to your family.
You'll have him tame in no time.

not really, there are a lot of foods that are better working with other flavors. Reduced by 2/3 balsamic Vinegar with a small amount of dark chocolate makes a decadent ice cream sauce. (Not all balsamic vinegars work, has to be a true aged vinegar with cherry under tones, not blended and mixed to taste like balsamic vinegar)

I am totally lost.... what does true aged vinegar that does not really taste like vinegar have to do with strawberries being in season and who likes them or not????   I may need to back track... must have missed something....
;):th
:lau Got mixed up with another thread. Conversation about I cream toppings, raw honey on ice cream, and talked about balsamic vinegar reduced about 2/3 on ice cream. My fingers tangles on top of that, trying to explain in fewer words that not all balsamic vinegars work. The topping dose not taste good without the ice cream. Add chocolate and a new flavor completely. :gig I know no one will argue they are coming to take me away :gig :gig

Wish I could say will never happen again.
