"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

My neighbors dog killed some of my chickens. He has agreed to pay for them so I am trying to replace them. This is what I lost plz let me know if you have some he can buy to replace them

2 blue copper marans. Hens
2 cream legbar hens
3 ameracauna hens
3 rir hens
2 sultan 1 hen 1 too
1 golden laced polish hen
1 rhodebar hen

I don't have any of these breeds grown at the moment to spare but my friend has golden laced polish I think that are not laying age but a long ways from newly hatched chick. I also traded her my trio of Black Copper Marans (dadgum farts started to lay the day after I traded them). I will also eventually have sultan chicks. -She is Nanachicken on this forum:

Now I do not know if you will find cream legbars in this state without selling a body part but I can direct you to the breeder I just got a young trio from in Ohio for a fair price or I can let you also know in a few months when mine start to lay but there's a bit of a line building there.

OK I have a batch of homemade salsa simmering on the stove & fixing to make some pork wontons for supper tonight. Trying to get Pete to talk to me - he is still quiet but settling in nicely. I don't think he's ever seen dogs before - he is watching them closely & listening to them.

Romeo is fanning away out back. Who wants peachicks this year? I will be hatching peachicks, olive-eggers, Welsummers and Cuckoo Marans this year.

Its a lovely morning, because of no school! Freezing cold here at 29. I may throw some plain navy beans into the pressure cooker to add some heat and stream to the house. Its so different that yesterday afternoon, which was almost perfect, no jacket, weather. My camera got a nice workout yesterday, today editing.
It was a beautiful day yesterday. I got to meet Prim and her granddaughter. It was a treat! They drove over to see my baby horses and meet my crew.
I was SO HAPPY...NO SCHOOL!!! Probably more excited than my boys.

Sorry for your loss. I'm glad your neighbor has "stepped up".

anybody else incubating right now? I'm two weeks in to an incubation, this time next week I should have some chics!

I'm never not incubating! I have about 20 chicks of varying ages and some eggs in lockdown right now to hatch tomorrow. I set eggs either close enough together (1 days difference) or far enough apart to give my hatcher a quick disinfecting between hatch dates. What are you incubating? Right now most of my eggs are mixes with some purebred polish.

I'll PM my address for dinner delivery!! Pete is probably trying to figure out "what the heck?!?" with the dogs.
Olive eggers....ahhhhhhh....I WILL be an adult and wait...until when, not sure...keep us posted.
