It was a beautiful day yesterday. I got to meet Prim and her granddaughter. It was a treat! They drove over to see my baby horses and meet my crew.
I was SO HAPPY...NO SCHOOL!!! Probably more excited than my boys.
Fruit season is just around the corner especially if this year goes as quickly as last year did. Does anyone know of somewhere to buy large quantities of reasonably priced fruit? I would like to find a pick your own place but have had a hard time finding one. I am willing to travel the state to find locally grown. My farmers market disappointed me last year. The farmer I usually use had a bad year and only had oranges. Then, a new guy that I don't trust popped up out of nowhere selling everything $5.99 a pound and everything was from another state. In fact, I think he bought them from Walmart because every time Walmart had a fruit on sale that would be what he was selling that week. (Him selling fresh blueberries in October was really strange) Also, does anyone know someone that has elderberries on their propriety? I would love to bribe them to allow me to take some off of their hands. I wanted to make some more elderberry syrup this year as my stock is getting low and it is getting harder to find.

Blackberries, Raspberries, Mulberries, Boysinberries (don't think they grow down here), Elderberries, Strawberries, Blueberries, Apples, and Bananas. At least 5 bushels worth of each. What are you looking for and how much are you looking to buy?
Yes. They are poisonous unless they are cooked. There is a really high level of tannins that can be cooked out really quickly. I like them most in pancake syrup and wine. Are elderberries the black pea sized berry that grow wild in the woods? My Dad told me don't eat them but I see birds eating them. Pam
