We offer a good pellet with manna free fed and hay daily. Hay changes up from alfalfa to Bermuda I think its called. They all get small quantities if multiple herbs from the gardens regularly and are offered scraps of veggies and fruit throughout the gardening season, only what we grow and only from the dirt...we haven't stored anything for them, yet. They are all thriving. I have a Holland lop and a whole heck of a lot of new Zealand whites.

In fact, I think he bought them from Walmart because every time Walmart had a fruit on sale that would be what he was selling that week. (Him selling fresh blueberries in October was really strange) Also, does anyone know someone that has elderberries on their propriety? I would love to bribe them to allow me to take some off of their hands. I wanted to make some more elderberry syrup this year as my stock is getting low and it is getting harder to find.

Are elderberries the black pea sized berry that grow wild in the woods? My Dad told me don't eat them but I see birds eating them. Pam

There is a CSA in 6 th ward called Grow farm they have a Facebook page. They sell at Covington farmers market too. If you do there CSA you pick up at the farmers market.

There is a u pick blueberry farm in that area too. Last year they said call first . It was bad year foe blueberries. If you goggle CSA or organic farms in Alexandra maybe other places closer to you will come up.

Blackberries, Raspberries, Mulberries, Boysinberries (don't think they grow down here), Elderberries, Strawberries, Blueberries, Apples, and Bananas. At least 5 bushels worth of each.

Yes. They are poisonous unless they are cooked. There is a really high level of tannins that can be cooked out really quickly. I like them most in pancake syrup and wine.

They are all over the woods around here. At my house I'll start making notes of where else I see them around town I bet they are all along a unused train tracks I know of by me. I'll let you know when they start fruting. I know where a lot of wild blackberries are too. Pam
 
Buggles I noticed the chicken mugs you posted on FB where the rim of the cup has a face and beak.I really like them when we start growing agin I'm going to make some. They were so cute. Pam
