"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

Its generally the placenta they are after the mamma cow or whatever is generally capable of shooing them off till the newborn gets its footing I could see them getting to the baby though esp if it is a cull /non survivor (natural selection) move. but on the Buzzards getting chickens I've never had an incidence of that happening tho.

I'm thinking thats why they eat the placenta.:idunno

I've only ever seen them take care of the placenta, etc. when one of my mares foals in the pasture. But I still have so much to learn about chickens, I thought I'd better ask. My two boys have also been lurking around the house and barn area with bg guns on the lookout for anything trying to get the chickens. It is the only time that they have permission to aim at a living creature. Otherwise, the rule at our house is if you shoot it, you eat it. There haven't even been sparrows in the barn lately. Those two are a menace! :/

I lost my sister Melissa 10 years ago and sometimes when I remember the pain is so great I an hardly breathe. The truth is you may go on with your life after you lose someone but nothing can ever fill that hole. I couldn't imagine losing my husband.
Never question what he saw... he saw what he wanted all rolled into one! Sorry about your sister.
