"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

Do your research before getting them. They require special care like a silkie when it gets too cold and they say not to breed them with another frizzle because of feather issues. They are cute though.

I like silkes kinda I don't want them but I like looking at other peoples. I'm like KG  when it comes to some frizzies. Glad your back online missed ya!! Pam

That is true. No Frizzle on Frizzle action allowed. We were so excited when we realized that we had Frizz. I am glad that we read up on them right away.

She looks about half the size of Tiny now. But when they were chicks the day we brought them home, he was actually smaller and would constantly peep. It was actually driving us all a bit mad. He just could not settle and rest with the rest of the chicks. So we would have to take him out and put him inside my zip up sweatshirt and he instantly would go to sleep. I can't count how many times I told the kids that he might not make it. But he just needed a few days of occasional snuggly naptimes and he was off and running.

So, Pam, would you say this is the best view of the Silkie? Lol, no dinosaur face on this end. My kids say they look like fluffy dinosaurs. I love this one. She (I hope) looks sort of like a dalmation. The other splash ones color is a lot "muddier" and I really thing that one is a boy. Crossing my fingers for this one. Its very cute!

I'm no expert, Cracked, but what I was always told was that buzzards only eat carrion/dead meat and hawks and eagles go
I DONT KNOW WHO DID IT, but last November, when that black necked buzzard was in my back yard going after ANOTHER one of my September hatched chicks that was free-ranging... it was later found dead at the front corner of our property... or one of them was... there were 3 that actually landed and were walking to my open chicken coop when I saw them and scared them off. I know I was 4 chicks short by that afternoon.... no hawks seen all day, and foxes were gone by then and the puppy was at the vets.... so I googled it, and Wikipedia says they will... So im figuring why take the chance? I wont again.

Exactly.... I have my lil chicken ways now, and to have to do extra care... it is just something I am just not ready to tackle just yet! Want to, but won't. I don't even know who has any of these up here actually if I DID want to get started with them.... but I want to hold them SSSOOOOOOOOOO BAD!!! Looks like the sweetest fuzzy cuddle birdies!!

Good One! LMAO!! Yes, I don't mine the front I just don't want one. Hopfully I'll get the breeds I want before Ron finds a silkie he wants !! But the fluffy butt is always the best view.:lau

:love I soooo love. Frizzles. That is what I hear. When I have the space I would love to have some frizzle chickens.

that is what Flower said, she briefed me on them because this fall I was going to winter her frizzle with another hen to keep her company.

Flower lives in the high cold snow counrty. She assured me I would do fine. She comes down every month. Unfortunately a predictor got her before her next trip down to Phoenix. I'm still in Chicken 101. There are a number of chickens I would like. I wanted to start with Silkies. Changed my mind as I started to learn, chose RIR, Buff Orpington's and EE's to start.
